Friday’s tasting will transport you to a piazza somewhere in Italy 🇮🇹 where the days are long, the air is fresh, ☀️ the sun is shining, and you’re sipping on a refreshing white or sparkling rosé, or pairing this red with dinner.

Join Jay Bott, our friend from importer Massanois, to enjoy a taste of Italy. If you close your eyes while you sip on one of these, you can almost imagine you’re there…

🍓 Lucchetti Pét Nat Lacrima Rosé NV
100% Lacrima di Morro d’Alba from Le Marche, Italy
A pink bubbly with aromas of strawberry and stone fruits that are complemented by an intensely fresh, easy-drinking palate bursting with white peach and crisp acidity.

🍋‍🟩Cantine Massimo Leone Fiano 2025
100% Fiano from Puglia, Italy
Straw yellow in color with nutty aromas of citrus. The round and creamy palate is light, fresh, and elegant, with hints of bitter almond, apricot, and zesty lime.

🥭 Cantine Massimo Leone Falanghina 2025
100% Falanghina from Puglia, Italy
Aromas of vanilla, stone fruit, and citrus. On the palate, it is smooth, savory, and pleasantly warm, with salty notes of tropical mango and balanced acidity.

🍒 Pasquale Pelissero ‘Cascina Crosa’ Barbaresco 2022
100% Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy
Aged 2 years in French oak, with aromas of violet, cherry, orange, and black pepper that lead into a full-bodied, velvety palate of savory dill, spice, and earth with dusty tannins.

Friday’s tasting 🇫🇷 French wines with a story to tell 📖

Swing by this Friday from 4–7pm to taste with Cason from French importer Terres Blanches!

When you visit the Terres Blanches website, you’re greeted by a bold header that reads: Importer of Honestly Farmed, Hand-Crafted Wines. Unique wines with a story. A story of a person and a story of a place.

And if that doesn’t describe our approach to wine, too, I don’t know what does. Stop by to hear the stories behind these four bottles!

Cason will pour…
🍏 Domaine de Chevillard “Apremont” 2020
100% Jacquère from Savoie AOP, France
Aged in old oak barrels for 24 months, this wine gives attractive aromas of limestone and flint, delicate acidity, and notes of citrus and green apple on the palate with a lengthy finish.

🍋 Domaine Bärtschi “Sous Les Rochers La Vigne” 2023
100% Chardonnay from Bugey cru Manicle, Bugey AOP, France
The grapes are harvested early to preserve vibrant acidity and bright fruit, before spending 11 months in French oak, followed by two months in stainless. This wine captures the minerally freshness and tension of the cool climate, with pithy lemon zest and creamy textural notes on the palate.

🍒 Domaine de Deux Clés “Clés en Main Rouge” 2024
45% Cinsault, 25% Grenache Noir, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Piquepoul Noir from Hautes-Corbières, France
Each variety is vinified separately in stainless and concrete tanks to preserve freshness. Clés en Main is a returning favorite, and for good reason! It’s beautifully juicy and aromatic with mouthwatering acidity and a palate ripe with notes of cherry, licorice, red currant, and white pepper.

🪴 Domaine Lampyres “Une Autre Histoire” 2023
95% Syrah, 5% Carignan from Roussillon, France
The grapes are macerated separately in whole bunches, fermented with indigenous yeast, and aged 9 months in sandstone amphoras. Brooding, soft aromas of sour cherry and dark plum emerge from the glass, while the palate is lively with tangy red fruits, saline minerality, and umami hints of herbs.

✨ Bonus tasting on Wednesday this week ✨ Piedmont Wines with Braida! 🇮🇹

Braida is a family-run Piedmont estate rooted in local grapes, place, and a mix of tradition and innovation.

They’re most well-known for elevating Barbera from a simple wine to something more serious. Founder Giacomo Bologna was among the first to age Barbera in oak barriques, which was unusual at the time and changed how the grape was perceived.

Wednesday from 4-7pm, we’ll be joined by Norbert Reinisch, export manager and part of the family behind the wines.

Norbert will pour:

🍋 Il Fiore
A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Nascetta that’s bright, fresh, and easy, with lingering acidity.

🌸 Monferrato Rosso il Baciale
A blend of Barbera, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot aged in oak for 2 years that starts floral and ends with darker fruits, herbs, and a savory tang.

🍫 Barbera d’Asti Montebruna
A stemmy, earthy Barbera that ages 1 year in oak and shows purple flowers, spiced cherry compote, and cacao nibs.

🍯 Brachetto d’Acqui
A fresh, juicy, ever-so-slightly bubbly Brachetto, with candied violets, pomegranate acidity, cherry, and a touch of honey.

See you Wednesday?

Today’s tasting: Rhône versus Rhône-ish 🥊🍇 an old world vs new world showdown highlighting Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre blends!

Côtes du Rhône is one of the most beloved wine regions in France—and for good reason. These wines are typically blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, known for being medium to full-bodied, food-friendly, and packed with character, often at an incredible value for the quality.

But did you know that regions like Walla Walla in Washington share some surprising similarities: warm days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils that allow for excellent drainage. The result? Wines that echo the Rhône’s balance of richness and freshness, while still showing their own unique sense of place.

Swing by from 4-7pm to taste two Côtes du Rhône style red blends, side by side:

🫐 Domaine de l’Amauve Estelles 2023 🇫🇷
Coming from the Séguret subregion in the southern Rhône, this wine is aged in a mix of new and old oak barrels, and on the lees in tanks (to preserve freshness and fruit!) for 12 months before being blended and bottled.

Expect a darker intensity, with floral violets, macerated blackberry, caramel (Butterfingers?), and spice. Great tannins and savory intensity.

🪴 Petit Grosgrain 2022 🇺🇸
Walla Walla Valley in Washington state has been an agricultural hub for more than a century, so it’s no surprise we’re now seeing acres and acres of exceptional vineyards. This wine is aged 11 months in large neutral oak barriques before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Flowers, fresh blackberries, and plums are balanced by olive, wild herbs, and savory earthiness here. This is a wine that will evolve in your glass (or decanter, if you have one handy).

Friday’s tasting: Chillable reds for whatever the weather brings ☀️⛈️

Most of us wine folks agree that wine tastes better if served slightly colder than the room you’re in (think French chateau in the winter), but certain reds—namely those light to medium-bodied with higher acid and lower tannin—are begging for a chill to amp up those refreshing notes.

So at this time of year, (when it’s 80 degrees one day and sunny-but-may-snow the next), and it’s hard to decide between a rich wintery red or a crisp summery white or rosé, may we suggest a chilled red?

Friday from 4-7pm, we’re pouring these three:

🍓 Tablas Creek Vineyard “Alouette” 2024
refreshing and savory, with aromas of wild strawberries, yellow roses, and mint, and flavors of pomegranate, watermelon, and herbs. A hint of tannin and refreshing acidity.

🚨 Stein “Red Light” 2024
A red-fruited arrow with that trademark Mosel energy and delicacy. Bursting with tart red cherries, cranberries, and dried herbs, it is bright, lifted, and energetic with perfect mineral tension.

🫒 Alessandro Viola “Note di Rosso” 2024
Elegant, juicy, fresh, and full of deep fruit, this is smooth and spicy, with notes of blackberry jam, purple flowers, black pepper, prune, and balsamic and kalamata olive undertones.

Soooo see you soon?

04/10/2026

This weekend’s forecast is *begging* for rosé, and these 2025 Pinot Noir rosés are ready to deliver. Swing by today 4-7pm for a taste! ☀️

There’s a reason (well, a lot of reasons) Pinot Noir is one of the most heralded grapes in winemaking—and the rosés are no exception!

With more red fruit 🍓🍒 and a rounder, richer texture, these wines are complex, with lots of oomph and precision (and they’re totally dry, too).

We’re pouring:

🌸 Domaine La Croix St. Laurent Sancerre Rosé 2025
🇫🇷 Sancerre, Loire, France
Beautiful florals and bright red fruit on the nose transition to the intense minerality we expect from the whites of the region. Balanced acidity and a creamy texture with a loooong finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.

🍋‍🟩 Muller-Ruprecht Rosé 2025
🇩🇪 Kallstadt/Pfalz, Germany
This wine shows lighter, citrusy lime and peach on the palate. It’s a delicate wine that has bright acidity and a fresh, crisp intensity.

Stop by today from 4-7pm and sample these brand new rosés—perfect for sipping in the weekend sunshine. 🌞

Today’s tasting: bubbly, 3 ways! 🍾 we’re diving deep into the world of sparkling wine with 3 bottles that use 3 different methods to produce those tiny, wonderfully fizzing bubbles. 🫧

Tank Method
The base wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in a large, sealed tank, before being filtered and bottled. A fresher, fruitier bubbly.

we’ll taste:
🍾 Romolo Fo****or Prosecco Brut 2024
🇮🇹 Valdobbiadene, Italy  🍇 Glera
(Not pictured but arriving soon!)

Ancestral Method
The original method of making sparkling wine, where the wine is bottled partway through the initial (and only) fermentation, trapping the CO2 in the bottle and creating a bubbly wine.

we’ll taste:
🍾 Vinyes Singulars Minipuca 2022
🇪🇸 Penedès, Spain  🍇 Xarel·lo

Traditional Method
The most iconic, well-regarded (and expensive) method for sparkling wine production, where the base wine is bottled with a blend of yeast and sugar (liqueur de tirage), triggering a second fermentation that occurs inside the bottle. A richer, toastier bubbly.

we’ll taste:
🍾 Limnad Lake Bubbles Blanc de Noir 2020
🇺🇸 Finger Lakes, NY  🍇 Pinot Noir

Tasting runs from 4-7 tonight! See you soon??

For today’s tasting, we’re diving into one of the Loire Valley’s signature wines: Cabernet Franc from Chinon! 🍷 🫑

Cabernet Franc (the parent grape of global superstar Cabernet Sauvignon!), is perhaps one of the most misunderstood grape varieties. Some people can be turned off by the classic green-pepper, herbal notes found in wines made from Cabernet Franc, which come from pyrazine, an intensely aromatic organic compound found in the grape’s skins.

In the hands of skilled winemakers in the Loire Valley’s Chinon region, we see a balance of that peppery depth with gorgeous fruit. 🍒 we’re pouring two such wines today:

🍫 Domaine Couly Dutheil Chinon 2019 ‘Clos de l’Olive’
Notes of dark chocolate-covered cherries, rosemary, tea leaves, and dark wild berries with a lingering finish.

🍒 Domaine Jourdan Chinon 2023 ‘Les Gravinières”
Bright notes of black currants and black cherries balance the savory green character and lend silky tannins.
