Friday’s tasting: Italian w**es with Le Storie 🇮🇹

Le Storie, which means “the stories” in Italian, is a local importer of hand-crafted w**es sourced throughout all regions of Italy.
Join us and our friend Jay from Le Storie this Friday as we travel through Italy, tasting each “story”, from soil to vine, from fruit to glass, learning about the w**e and w**emakers that make these small releases so exceptional. Arrivederci!

Fresh and mouthwatering with notes of clementines, almond flowers, tart white peaches,, and a signature zippy, mineral-driven finish with bright acidity.

🫧Mai Sentito Marche Frizzante 2025
80% Verdicchio, 20% Trebbiano
‘Mai sentito’ means ‘unheard of,’ and this sparkling Verdicchio, bottled before the second fermentation is finished, is certainly the first of its type we’ve seen! Fresh and fun, with citrus notes and a pleasant fizz.

2023 Domaine de la Renardière Arbois-Pupillin Trousseau “À la Dame” - Jura, France
100% Trousseau

A flavor profile of cidery spice and appley skins — everything that screams fall! There is a savoriness to it, yet has a crispness to it like the fall air. This is a very transitional w**e — not super light and bright, but much more levity to it.

Abbey’s Pick:
La Cuadrilla 2023 - Santa Barbara, CA
50% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 15% Sangiovese

Floral, silky red berry and plum profile. Has a gorgeous freshness to it, but also has a darker, peppery feel and fine tannin on the back end. This w**e is plush yet has a crunchiness to it, just like the leaves on the ground!

Kristen’s Pick:
Comando G La Bruja De Rozas Garnacha 2024 - Sierra de Gredos, Spain
100% Garnacha

Not too heavy, not too light. A perfect red to bridge the gap between summer + fall. Bright notes of crunchy red fruits balanced by a flinty minerality, all nuanced with aromas of purple flowers and herbs.

Friday’s tasting: Willamette Valley w**es with LISKA! 🍷 Named after the w**emaking couple’s German Shepherd, Liska W**e Co is an exploration of the varietal diversity found in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and inspired by their time in the Mosel, 🇩🇪 where they fell in love with acid-driven, lower alcohol w**es. (You’ll notice there’s no Pinot Noir in this lineup! 😱)

Lesser-known grapes exist worldwide, often saved from extinction by passionate growers and local w**emakers looking beyond mainstream choices. These grapes offer a fascinating reflection of the land and culture they come from. ⛰️

Today 4-7pm: take a trip to the Mosel 🇩🇪 with a Riesling tasting!

From dry to lusciously sweet, Riesling offers a spectrum of styles that cater to diverse palates and is loved and respected by w**e enthusiasts and industry professionals.

Yet, curiously enough, it is rarely a top pick for most w**e drinkers. I think, in part, because it’s often misunderstood. 🤔 Let’s see if we can change that!

Riesling is renowned for its versatility, complexity, and ability to express terroir like no other grape variety. 🍇

For today’s tasting, we will explore trocken (dry) and feinherb (slightly off-dry) styles of Riesling from the Mosel region of Germany, 🇩🇪 with two important w**eries located just across the Mosel River from each other.

🍑 Weingut Weiser-Künstler Riesling Feinherb 2025
Fermented in stainless steel down to off-dry levels of residual sugar (18 g/l). Wild herbs, stone fruit and bergamot. Juicy with a long, fresh, slightly salty finish.

🍋 Weingut Vollenweider Riesling Trocken 2025
Fermented dry (no residual sugar here) in stainless steel (90%) and wooden cask (10%). Flowers, minty herbs, and aniseed with a tangy, smoky minerality. Mouth-wateringly tart!
