Tasmania’s Sullivans Cove Distillery, one of the world’s most sought-after names in whisky, has officially launched in Hong Kong for the first time through a new distribution partnership with Northeast.
The launch marks the first official availability of Sullivans Cove whisky in Hong Kong, with a highly limited allocation of selected expressions now released to a small number of premium hospitality, specialist retail and whisky-focused trade partners.
Founded in Hobart, Tasmania in 1994, Sullivans Cove helped pioneer Australian single malt whisky on the world stage and remains internationally recognised for its uncompromising single cask philosophy, long-term maturation approach, and distinctly Tasmanian sense of place.
The distillery became the first producer outside Scotland or Japan to win World’s Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards in 2014, helping redefine global perceptions of where world-class whisky could come from. Since then, Sullivans Cove has gone on to achieve three more separate World’s Best titles at the awards - a distinction unmatched by any other distillery.
Most recently, the distillery was awarded World’s Best Single Cask Single Malt Whisky at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards.
