An extremely rare A.H. Hirsch green-script “15 Year” next to an early blue-wax 16 Year.
Both came from the same Spring 1974 Pennco distillation, but the 15 is the interesting one here. By the time Julian Van Winkle bottled this version in 1990, the bourbon had already turned 16 years old, even though the label still said 15. Even among the exceptionally rare script-label 15s, the green-script version is in a class of its own.
Just more of those strange little details that makes old Hirsch so much fun to collect.
