I’m rating these popular and not so popular Tequila’s from 1-10. This is my part two. Let’s go.

Casamigos -0– because ewww who wants a vanilla bomb?

Tequila Ocho – 9 - one of the best additive free tequilas on the market. Single estate traditionally made and just delicious.

1800-2- not as bad as Casamigos, but still not good.

Wild common- 8 - a great choice, very sippable. Small batch.

Teremana - 3 - The Rock should stick to his day job. But I would still drink it over Casamigos.

El Tequileño - 7 - I might even give it an eight… Solid choice, authentically made Tequila.

Siete Leguas - 8- always consistent, high-quality and additive-free. One of the few you can always find everywhere.

Siembra Azul- one of the best crafted tequilas. Amazing for sipping and savoring. Super small batch.

Do you agree? Let me know your thoughts.

Here are 4 things you probably don’t know (or may disagree with) when it comes to tequila:

1. CRISTALINO SHOULD NOT BE CALLED TEQUILA. You pay añejo prices to age it in oak — then pay again to filter the color (and the flavor) back out. You’re paying twice to end up with less.
2. “100% AGAVE” MEANS ALMOST NOTHING. That bottle can still legally contain additives — glycerin, sugar, caramel color, oak extract — up to 1%, undisclosed. The label you want is “additive-free.”
3. “SMOOTH” IS A RED FLAG AS OFTEN AS IT’S A COMPLIMENT. Real tequila earns a soft finish through careful production. A lot of brands fake it with glycerin. Know which one you’re drinking.
4. PRICE TELLS YOU ABOUT THE BOTTLE, NOT THE TEQUILA. I’ve got $40 bottles that beat $400

Comment tequila and I’ll send you a list of actually good tequila.

Most celebrity tequilas sucks…I said it. But you have may been drinking these for years and not even know they suck. It’s not your fault, these celebs spend tons marketing how great and cool these tequilas are. But we are wiser now…

here are three non-celebrity tequilas that are so worth your hard earned $$

1. TAPATÍO REPOSADO (and no — not the hot sauce). NOM 1139, the same distillery that makes El Tesoro. Carlos Camarena and the La Alteña family have been doing this the right way for 80+ years. Tahona-crushed, additive-free, and somehow it costs $30. Drinks like a $60 bottle. If you’ve got a Casamigos on your shelf, swap it for this. Today.

2. SIEMBRA AZUL — made by David Suro, basically the Anthony Bourdain of tequila. Cultural ambassador, restaurateur, the guy fighting hardest to make sure agave traditions don’t get steamrolled by industrial production. When you buy a Siembra Azul, you’re not just buying tequila — you’re buying into a whole philosophy. Clean, bright, and it actually means something.

3. ELEVACIÓN 1250 — NOM 1522 (Hacienda de Oro), made by woman master distiller Iliana Partida in Amatitlán, Tequila Valley. Additive-free, autoclave-cooked, roller-milled, fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel. Rested 4 months in American oak so the agave still leads. Bright citrus, soft florals, vanilla-and-spice finish. Clean, modern, and made by people doing it right — not by people with a publicist.

If you’re looking for some of the best Anejo tequilas, they might not come in a fancy box. Here are some incredible Anejo Tequila’s that are additive-free, impeccably made, and you may have not heard of them before.

1. Siembra Alteño Anejo - this is from the David Surro project who is like the Anthony Bourdain of Tequila. This comes from the Highlands of Jalisco, made for the perfect sip.

2. Alma Del Jaguar barricaa mizunara cask - aged in Japanese mizunara oak barrels. These are the barrels that very high-end Japanese whiskeys are aged in making this one of the most luxurious Anejo’s I’ve ever had. It’s really special.

3. Siete Leguas Anejo - this is probably the most popular out of the three and is widely available for the most part.. It’s aged for 24 months in American Oak barrels. Siete Leguas uses the traditional methods for making it Tequila and it always delivers the best flavor.

Comment Anejo and I will send you the full list of my favorite Anejo tequila’s.

Is Fortaleza the new 1942. Now before you start hating on me… I love Fortaleza. It is an incredibly high-quality traditionally made added to free Tequila that I still enjoy. But now we’re seeing the same type of hype that we saw for 1942 back in the day. This hype is making it incredibly difficult for us. Tequila aficionado to get our hands on a bottle.

So instead of chasing hype and the illusion of a bottle, here are three anejo tequilas that you can get right now that won’t have you missing Fortaleza.

1. G4 anejo. It’s amazing how an aged tequila can still have so much of the agave flavor. Aged for 18 months in American Oak with hints of Carol, caramelize agave, roasted nuts and light vanilla just delicious.

2. El Tesoro Anejo - again this is an OG, for people who have been drinking additive free tequila’s for years you know what I’m talking about. This one is dusty, herbaceous notes of bell pepper, and jalapeño mixed with coconut and agave to round it off. a consistent well-made tequila that makes the loss of Fortaleza a little easier.

3. Alma del Jaguar Anejo mizunara - this one is the real flex. Hard to find because it is a limited release but still available. This is for the person that appreciates a well-made Tequila with notes of sandalwood Jasmin and honey. This is truly one of a kind Tequila.

Can’t find Fortaleza Tequila? You’re not the only one… This is my part two on alternatives to Fortaleza when you can’t find it. Fortaleza is a great Tequila… But there are tequilas that are just as good but are often overshadowed by Fortaleza. Here are some Tequila’s all opt for even when Fortaleza is available.

1. Cascahuin Repo - I will bet on this in a blind taste test any day. It is one of the most underrated Tequila’s but those who know, know. This is one of the most well respected Tequila’s in the industry coming from a family that’s been making Tequila since 1904

2.Ocho reposado 2025 La Mesa. OK so this is a rare one so it might not even be available by the time you see this video so if you see it grab it. this is a high proof reposado with an abundance of flavor. But don’t worry if you can’t find this addition of Ocho reposado the regular reposado is just as incredible.

3. Arette artesenal repo - this one is a little bit edger a little bolder. It’s gonna be earthy with loads of mineral Rallidae… It’s each for 11 months so you’re also gonna get some achiness. It’s just so delicious if you’re looking for a Repo with an edge.

Are you still buying your Tequila at the grocery store? Then you’re probably drinking bad Tequila. Here are some of the best tequilas on the market that you will not find at the grocery store.

Most grocery stores unless it’s a really cool one don’t carry small batch Tequila’s. They focus on the popular, mass produce Tequila‘s that they know the average consumer will buy. But you’re not the average consumer cause you’re watching this video so here is my list of incredible, authentically made Tequila.

Comment sip and I’ll tell you where you can find it.

Tapatio Blanco. - no this is not the hot sauce. Tapatio has been a fan favorite in Mexico for over 80 years and has just crossed over to the US market in the last few years. It is made by fifth generation master distillers, and is truly one of the most authentic tequilas

Alma del Jaguar Reposado - this is a small batch Tequila with a cause. Proceeds go to the Jaguar conservation in Mexico and beyond that, the tequila speaks for itself

Arette artesenal reposado - made by the Orendain family who has been making tequila since the 1900s. Still using the traditional methods to produce its tequila. It’s bright, full of the agave flavor and of course additive-free

Lost Lore is bringing us three new limited edition Tequila drops all with incredible collaborations that have a cause behind them.
