May Top Pick!

Cartuxa 2022 EA Vinho Tinto • Alentejano, Portugal • Reg $15.99 | Mixed Case $12.79

Blend = Aragonez 35%, Trincadeira 20%, Alicante Bouchet 20%, Syrah 15%, Castelao 10%. Smells a little like Rhône. Black & red berries, a little wild strawberry, garrigue (although they don’t have that??). Flavors are darker… black cherries, black plums, blackberries with herbal, earthy notes. That wine is on it!! Good acidity. Not super dry. More fruit. Fuller-bodied for the price. Fun to drink. Enjoyed with corn tortilla, sliced flank steak, olive tapenade, red cabbage slaw.

Join us to taste – Saturday, May 10 (12-3pm)

Theme = May Wine Club – Pickup Tasting

On the 2nd Saturday of every month, we taste our wine club wines for the month:

Our May Portalis EXPLORES Wine Club theme is Bordeaux (featuring a Bordeaux Blanc from & a Bordeaux Rouge from southeast of Saint-Émilion) & our May Portalis FLAGSHIP Wine Club features wines from northcentral Spain – Ribera del Duero (2 Tempranillo) & Rueda (from the white grape Verdejo).

This pickup tasting is for our club members to taste and learn about their wines prior to enjoying them at home. Everyone is welcome to join.

Cost for non-club members is $15. (Fee waived with the purchase of any wine in the shop.)

New Rosé from Provence!

Gassier 2023 Côtes de Provence L'Esprit Rosé • Provence, France • Reg $22.99 | Mixed Case $18.39

Blend of Syrah, Grenache, Rolle, Semillon, Cabernet & Cinsault from clay and limestone vineyards near Aix-en-Provence, close to the Mediterranean Sea and at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain.

Fuller-bodied with some depth. Lots of red fruit (strawberry field, red raspberries), white flowers, cantaloupe, citrus with a spicy note on the finish. Acidity, complexity, fruit.

This winery makes $100 rosés, and this one doesn't taste that different from the fancy ones! Seriously.

Get some!
