Did you know extra añejo has to nap in oak barrels for at least three years? Ours, Barrel No. 18, has been snoozing since spring 2023 and won’t wake up until next year. Just one barrel. No rush. All flavor. We can’t wait to see what time (and a little magic) brings. See you next spring, queen. 👑

Yesterday marked a historic moment in San Pedro de los Landeros. We installed the first cistern as part of our Water is a Human Right campaign, and pictured here is Doña Ramona, the very first recipient.

This would not have been possible without the extraordinary collective effort of the community itself, our partners at the University of Guadalajara, the College of Michoacán, and Pronatura. A heartfelt thank you to Professor Leobardo Padilla for his steady leadership and unwavering commitment to this effort on the ground.

This moment has been years in the making, and it was an honor to witness it come to life. We are deeply grateful to Doña Ramona for sharing it with us.

To our donors, thank you. Your belief in this vision is helping bring water, security, and possibility to the families who make this community so special.

This is not just about one cistern. It is about what becomes possible when the tequila industry begins to invest in the people and places that make this spirit so exceptional.

What does it take to bring a tequila harvest to life?

Meet Andrés, the head of the cuadrilla who led our second harvest. A cuadrilla is more than just a team. It’s a tightly knit group of jimadores and field workers who move together with trust, precision, and deep respect for the land.

From the first strike of the coa to the final load of piñas, their work is physically demanding and beautifully orchestrated. It’s a labor of strength, rhythm, and legacy.

Grateful to Andrés and his team for sharing their craft with us and for reminding us that behind every bottle is a collective story of heart, heritage, and sheer grit.

In the hills of San Pedro de los Landeros, 186 native trees now take root — one for every member of the community.

This was a true collective effort. Families came out together, sleeves rolled up, ready to restore shade and biodiversity to the landscape. We’re especially grateful to Leobardo Padilla, biologist and educator from the University of Guadalajara, who led the planting and generously shared his knowledge of native species and tree care with everyone who joined.

Reforestation efforts like this matter, especially in regions where agriculture has expanded rapidly, altering local ecosystems and intensifying heat. By planting trees, we help bring balance back to the land, support biodiversity, and create cooler, more resilient environments for future generations.

With heartfelt thanks to our partners at UDG, COLMICH, Atanasio, Gente Buena Foundation, Valor, Vivero Atizcoa, Colectivo Un Salto de Vida, and the incredible community of San Pedro de los Landeros. May this be one of many reforestations across tequila country.
