The last rider who we interviewed as part of the La Leggenda showcase is Alessandro! And here is what we learned:

What keeps bringing you back to La Leggenda year after year?

One of the most important things that brings me back year by year is the feeling to be in a such a healthy community, where we can spend time together for an incredible charity support! We usually have some challenges during the road and we always face them with our team spirit. It’s just a dream.

What’s the toughest part of the ride for you—not just physically, but mentally—and how do you get yourself through it?

One of the toughest part for me that hits me mentally is that I’m feeling constantly “lost”. The not knowing of the route but I’m always fully trusting the Team and the crew for support. I find myself asking questions — how long is the hill? How many km before the break? And I’m expecting a brutally honest answers!

⁠For someone considering taking on La Leggenda for the first time, what would you say makes the experience so special?

Team, food, beers, music, panoramas, challenges, charity, no phone, no work, pure nature. What do you need more of to enjoy it? This memory will stay with you till the end!

Why do you keep coming back to La Leggenda?

For the challenge, the adventure as you never know where it goes, the team spirit you build along the ride and at the same time you support this amazing work of the Great Ormond Street Hospital every year.

What’s your favourite La Leggenda Memory?

The coolest moment was probably going up the cobbles at Montmartre and suddenly all the pedestrians started cheering but in general it’s always the feeling when we finally arrive together at the finish line, completely exhausted and proud!

What does La Leggenda mean to you?

It means pushing my limits each year, teamwork, resilience and shared purpose. It’s showing up for one another and pushing through the difficult moments together.
