Edinburgh minimum order is £20 (for free delivery, under this we charge £4). We are out delivering on Monday, Wednesday and Friday within the bypass. UK minimum order for free delivery is £75 (under this we charge £7.50) and delivery take between 1-3 days depending on your location. A little Sandy & South Africa focus in time for the Halloween weekend!

2 of these will be pouring at the Winter W**e Fair too - the Chenin Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon.

Starting off with a bottle that Sandy absolutely loved when he tried it at The Real W**e Fair in 2024 & Wild W**e Fair 2026.

Nomad W**es ‘Inferno’ is a cool-climate Cabernet Sauvignon from high-altitude mountain vineyards in Elgin, made with a delicate touch that lets the terroir speak rather than the variety’s more muscular tendencies. An absolute belter that can go head to head with any lighter left bank Bordeaux. 🍇

Now we move onto the whites made by the same w**emaker but for 2 different projects & with 2 different grapes.

Nuvo Nivo is a project built on a straightforward idea: genuinely affordable w**es that still support growers farming organically & biodynamically. These w**es are made by Angelo of Yo El Rey W**es & this Chenin Blanc is a delight. The nose is aromatic & inviting, with the quince, apple & stone fruit character that defines Chenin at its best, given additional depth & a gentle creaminess from barrel ageing. A turkey w**e contender we think!

Having mentioned the wonderful Angelo, we can speak about his Yo El Rey Sauvignon Blanc! A w**e he swore he would never make but thank god he did! This electric Sauvignon Blanc offers jolts of tropical fruit freshness & rich honeydew melon texture. It’s snappy & sassy & anything but basic.

Angelo has been part of the Winter W**e Fair in the past & we are over the moon to have Modal W**es back in a few weeks.

One of the beautiful sparklings that will be pouring at the Winter W**e Fair is this Copinet Ch*****ne.

Marie-Laure Copinet has been steering the family estate in a bold new direction since 2015, beginning with the regeneration of the soils through the elimination of synthetic products in the vineyard. Her w**emaking philosophy centres on single vintage, single variety, and single vineyard Ch*****nes across three sub-zones of the appellation, producing w**es of rare elegance, purity, and a compelling blend of pleasure and precision.

Be sure to visit Modal W**es table at the fair to taste this delicious 50/50 Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier blend as well as so many other gems from w**eries working with organic fruit and making w**es with minimal intervention.

We are dog & Cab Franc friendly!!! 🐶🍷

Bottles have been arriving ready for the Winter W**e Fair in a few weeks…
Including these two new organic Cabernet Franc’s from the Loire Valley, both 2019 vintage, which will be open for tasting on the day.

It is no secret that India loves Cabernet Franc! It is a wonderful time of year to be shouting about them & recommending them to go along with cosy Autumn dinners on these stormy nights.

She loves the combination of red & black brambley fruit, as well as fresh herbal & bitter green elements to offer such complexity from a red that also gives high acid & savoury spice. For her, there is always a hint of red apple in a Cab Franc & it is a lovely match with so many of her favourite foods…

- roast (Christmas) ham with redcurrant jelly

La Niverdiere Renaissance is a pure & energetic example from Chinon in the Loire Valley, made by self-taught w**emaker Martine Bude with an infusion style that prioritises gentle extraction & freshness over the more tannic, oak-laden approach typical of the appellation. This is all juicy dark fruits with savoury notes, a soft structure & a long spicy finish.

Domaine Guion Authentique Bourgueil offers gorgeous aromas of red & black fruits with floral, earth & herbal notes on the nose. The palate delivers deeper black fruits, earth & spice with an intense mineral character & firm acidity that is a hallmark of this domaine.

Thankfully, the storms have passed here in Marchmont & the winds have died down. We even had some sunshine today to snap some secretive new arrivals from Thompson Bros Dornoch Distillery

First up, a 19 year old single malt from an undisclosed but well-known island distillery, distilled in 2007 & PARKED in refill hogsheads, bottled at cask strength. The palate is powerful & sharp with citrus, heather honey, stewed apples, wet slate, smoked ham, anchovies & capers in brine.

Secondly, a beautiful looking 36 year old single grain from Strathclyde distillery in Glasgow, bottled at a gentle 41% ABV after more than three decades in cask. The palate brings plum syrup, creme de peche, herbal tea, camphor, sawdust, toasted coconut & Golden Grahams cereal. The finish drifts toward Cuban rum, long & warming. Perfect for a November evening.

And lastly, with its eye catching tinned fish label, a 16 year old single malt from a mystery Highland distillery, with six years of additional finishing in ex-Moscatel casks. Sweet & citrusy on the palate with a long, waxy Highland finish. The Moscatel adds a generous dried fruit richness that sits beautifully alongside the distillery’s naturally soft & approachable character.
Best served with sardines in TOMATo sauce 🍅

India is just back from an amazing few days in Navarra, Spain.

A region steeped in history, culture, amazing ingredients & w**e of course. It is home to the bull running in Pamplona, part of the Frances route for the Camino del Santiago walk as well as jamon, tomatoes & piquillo peppers that stole her heart.

Half the region is a lush, green national park & the southern part (which is the only part under vine) is so diverse in its landscape & climate, we have altitude, rolling green hills down to the natural semi-desert of Bardenas Reales. A beautiful place.

The first Navarra producer to focus on is Vina Zorzal, as we have been long time fans, but there will be more coming from this inspiring trip including new w**eries that India visited.

Vina Zorzal is located in the far south of the region, near the border with La Rioja, close to the Ebro River valley as well as the desert. An extreme microclimate channelling scorching hot, dry winds in the summer & harsh cold winds in the winter, which naturally keeps the grape yields low & the flavours highly concentrated.

We have 2 reds & 2 whites from Viña Zorzal W**es made with local Spanish grape varieties.

A fab new Autumnal w**e on the shelf from Bergerac in South West France.

Chateau Barouillet has been organically farmed since 2013, they have an eighth generation w**emaker & this w**e is fermented with wild yeast with no added sulphur at bottling.

It can be hard to keep the acidity in balance in this very hot ripe part of France but the blending done here manages to focus on crunchy fresh fruit.

This is a very tasty red that Sam has been wanting in the range for a while as he is a long time fan! 🍇 🍷

The emphasis of the w**emaker is all on freshness & fruit for this w**e. There’s a bit of all the grapes’ key-characteristics coming through: savoury Malbec, herbaceous Cab Franc, red-fruited Merlot & plummy, spicy Cab Sauv.
