September is Bordeaux W**e Month & we have 2 tastings planned for you to explore this famous region.
The first is, Saturday 12th September from 2pm.
Pop in to see Sandy & Liam at the shop, to sample two Bordeaux reds side by side.
Chateau Picoron Mon Nom is an 100% Merlot celebrating the pure & natural beauty of the grape. It has a deep purple colour & a rich aroma of plums, cherries & herbs. This w**e is smooth & balanced, with a lively acidity & soft tannins. This is from an organic w**ery who represent the new wave side of the region. We were lucky enough to have the w**emaker join us last year at our Winter Fair!
Chateau Cru Godard is a more traditional Bordeaux style, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon & Malbec. Ripe, generous fruit is beautifully cosseted by a refreshing saline quality from the limestone, with the low sulphur approach allowing the terroir to speak with real clarity. Aged half in tank & half in three to five year old barrels, the oak is present but restrained, framing the fruit without dominating it. A w**e of genuine charm & substance. Pair it with roast lamb, duck confit, grilled ribeye or a fine cheese board.
