The Fine Wine Company Online and local independent wine merchant The Fine Wine Company Ltd was founded in 2003.

When we first started, we believed that there was the need for a good, down to earth, friendly and helpful specialist wine shop offering a range of interesting wines from mostly smaller producers. A sort of antidote to the increasing anonymity and sameness of the big chain stores.

Glenrothes 2015-2025 | 10 Year Old Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition #50

A small batch Glenrothes 2015 10-year-old sherry cask Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2025 by indie bottlers Signatory Vintage for their splendid 100-Proof Editions series. As with all Signatory's whiskies, this Glenrothes was bottled without colouring or chill filtration.

This 10-year-old Glenrothes 2015 came from a small batch of first fill Oloroso sherry butts and was bottled at 100 UK Imperial proof, aka 57.1%. Glenrothes always shows well from sherry casks, and this should be an absolutely enormous dram.

Springbank 5 Year Old 🥃🥃

The Springbank 5 Year Old 100 Proof 2025 is a highly sought-after release that has become a new core product for the distillery. The August 2025 release is part of this ongoing series and, like all Springbank whiskies, is a limited and highly desirable bottle.

Launch: This is a new core product for Springbank, with this particular release launching in August 2025.
Proof: The “100 Proof” on the label refers to the British proof system, which means the whisky is bottled at 57.1% ABV. This is a cask strength bottling.

Cask Maturation: The specific cask breakdown for this release is a vatting of different cask types. The October 2024 release, for example, was matured in fresh sherry casks, while previous releases have been from bourbon casks. The 2025 release is also likely to have a unique cask profile

A solera-aged Oloroso sherry from the 480-year-old producer Bodegas Barón, boasting a huge flavour profile of crisp toffee, orange peel and plump raisins sold by Port of Leith distillery.
The Port of Leith distillery will be using casks seasoned with sherry from Bodegas Barón to mature its whisky, but while the whisky ages, you can taste the sherry used for this yourself. Founded in 1631, Bodegas Baron is a small producer obsessed with quality.

Laurent-Perrier began in 1812, but this Champagne house isn’t one to stick to traditions. The winemaking team recently tore up the recipe for their non-vintage cuvée. The old wine was already one of the best-selling Champagnes in the world – but they knew they could create something even better. They weren’t wrong. La Cuvée was released in 2017. It’s a uniquely fresh fizz made predominantly from Chardonnay – and it remains a popular choice for discerning Champagne fans. It’s a superb marriage of white blossom, citrus and peach, with delicate toasty notes and a light mousse.
