Just in: The 4th Chapter in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, Sound of Sleat is made up of lightly smoked concerto and laureate barley, and is aged solely in American White Oak casks: https://rmwlink.co/soundofsleat

This series charts their developing house style, on the road to their 10 year old. We rate Torabhaig very highly, and we are excited to try this dram. Now on our website and in store.

We are always excited to see a new whisky from Ballindalloch. This single estate distillery in Speyside grow all their own barley for their single malt, and are Speyside's smallest distillery.

'The Castle' release combines Ballindalloch's fruity, medium bodied malt with maturation in first and second fill bourbon casks, some of which previously contained peated whisky.

This small batch is a collaboration with Sunday Times best selling author John Sutherland. 'The Castle' is a thriller set in a fictional Highland estate inspired by Ballindalloch Castle.

This could be a great gift, perhaps even something for father's day or for a special birthday. Or it could be a great read while you are enjoying this dram.

An oloroso sherry cask finished, 100 proof expression of this historic blend. We found it had nutty, old school sherried notes, berries, chocolate and a dash of smoke.

GlenAllachie Barrel Top Tasting next week! We are excited to be welcoming the team from The GlenAllachie who will be pouring their fantastic range at our Royal Mile Whiskies shop Monday 28th of April from 3pm until 6pm as part of a series of tastings in the build up to the Spirit of Speyside Festival.

Also, their smoky Meikle Toir Sherry cask will be the May Malt of the Month at the excellent The Black Cat on Rose Street in Edinburgh. Lots of chances to try this cracking distillery!

For this Spring outturn James Eadie not only have their eclectic selection of cask finished bottlings, they also have a new range which references their excellent book "The Distilleries of Great Britain and Ireland 1922 to 1929"

Each of these have label design based on distillery photos from the book, stylised by illustrator Greg Coulton. We enjoyed them all, but particularly the impactful sherry notes on the Mannochmore.

Great chocolatey whiskies for Easter.

With Easter weekend coming soon, our minds turn to the most important topic: which whiskies are the most chocolatey. The three bottles we have selected showcase different chocolate notes.

The classic Glendronach 12 has delightful milk chocolate, with plenty of fruit and nut notes.
The new Holyrood Pitch tastes of hazelnut chocolate spread on burnt toast. It is one of the most chocolatey drams we have tasted!
Our Royal Mile Whiskies Glentauchers has praline, caramel, dark cocoa and treacle notes.
