Scotland is back at the World Cup for the first time in 28 years. We are not watching that one alone.

Monday, June 15, come to The Haven in Boston for a Dram Night with Finn Thomson Whisky. Tasting pours start at 8 PM, Scotland v Haiti kicks off at 9. A dram in your hand, the Tartan Army around you, and whisky from a ninth-generation Perthshire family on the table.

Finn Thomson just landed in the US, so this is one of the first chances to taste it anywhere in the country. Single cask, natural color, non-chill filtered, the way we do all of it.

They said the tariff was gone. I just paid five figures on it. 🥃

Four weeks ago the Scotch whisky tariff was announced as removed. Last week our biggest import ever landed, five pallets of single cask Scotch, and every bottle got hit with the 10% duty anyway.

I hope policy follows the statement soon. Until the paperwork catches up, businesses like ours keep paying. But, here's the good part: the whisky is HERE in the USA. I'm absorbing this cost myself rather than passing it to you.

At 6:53 AM this morning, the largest import in The Whiskey Lab's history cleared the Port of New York. 30+ new releases. Pre-cleared customs while still crossing the Atlantic. No barriers remaining.

On Monday we move into our new 7,000 square foot warehouse in Sterling, VA. We started in a 600 square foot garage that I convinced the state to license as a bonded warehouse. This is a big milestone.

Order fulfillment starts next week. If you have a pre-order in, it ships. The 10% discount on all new import items stays live through June 13. On June 14, standard pricing kicks in.

Six events in seventeen days starting June 1. UK Embassy for wounded veterans heading to the Cateran Yomp. Benash Liquors in NJ on June 4. Finn Thomson Whisky in Boston for the World Cup June 15 and 16 (The Haven & The Sea Hag Restaurant & Bar). The Philadelphia Whiskey Society - PWS on June 17. And then on June 18, I will take a breath.

Scotland vs Brazil. June 10, 1998. The last time these two met at a World Cup.
That same day, this whisky was distilled. It spent 28 years in a bourbon cask, waiting.
On June 24, Scotland faces Brazil again, this time on American soil.
