Ten years ago this month, I packed my first Birdytell gift at my kitchen table.
I bought enough local goods to create three different Mother’s Day gift boxes and shared them on Facebook. My goal was really just to make local gifting easier, more modern, and more thoughtful.
I had no idea if anyone would care or be interested, but those first gifts sold out. I hand-wrapped every box, and my husband, niece, and I personally delivered every gift to each mom’s home. Many of the deliveries were emotional. All of them were delighted. Those interactions fueled me to keep going.
Over the years, Birdytell has evolved in ways I never could have imagined. We’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of artisans and local small businesses. We’ve packed thousands of gifts, survived hard seasons, celebrated dream clients, and placed large orders with makers who were just getting started. Especially that last one. It makes everything worth it.
Slowly, this business became what it is today.
Today, the next chapter is live.
New packaging. Entirely new curated collections, including The Concierge for modern workplace gifting, Hospitality for travel and welcome experiences, and Residence for thoughtful home gifting. A rebuilt business & event gift builder for larger branded orders. A Market of individual goods from independent Arizona makers, where any single item can easily become a gift with the addition of a signature gift box. New stories woven throughout, so every gift can be traced back to the people and places behind it.
This launch feels especially meaningful because it’s the first time the brand fully matches the vision I’ve carried in my head for years.
Every detail was thoughtfully rebuilt, and we’re just getting started with gifting experiences.
To the makers who said yes when this was just an idea, to the clients who came back, and to everyone who has ever sent a Birdytell gift, thank you. You’re the reason this exists.
Birdytell continues for the same reason it did ten years ago: to support independent makers, celebrate local communities, and help people send gifts that actually mean something.
I hope you love the new experience. 🤍
