SK Motorsports has been BUSY in the past few weeks. Thad Moffitt continues to compete in the ARCA Menards Series in the SK-branded 46 Toyota, and following a stop at the Tide 150 at Kansas Speedway he earned another Top 10 finish at the recent General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In addition, SK and Spire Motorsports teamed up for a NASCAR Truck Series win at Nashville Superspeedway last week, courtesy of Rajah Caruth. Lots was happening at the SK Recycle Center in the garage at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway recently, including an impromptu autograph session! The 2016 IndyCar Champion and 2019 Indy 500 Champion Simon Pagenaud brought some material over to the center, and was more than happy to meet and greet some excited fans.

Late last month Roush Yates Engines, in partnership with Ford Performance, reached a historic milestone by securing its 200th NASCAR Cup Series point win. The 200th win was secured at the Jack Links 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, with Team Penske's Austin Cindric taking the checkered flag. Safety-Kleen has been with Roush Yates Engines for all 200 wins as an official Environmental Company, and we congratulate their team on this historic accomplishment. We look forward to being at their side for many more years (and wins!) to come.

Safety-Kleen Motorsports was part of a special piece of NHRA history last Sunday, when Shawn Langdon and Team Kalitta Motorsports won the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. It was the 1,000th Top Fuel race in NHRA history, and Don Garlits, winner of the first ever Top Fuel race in 1963, presented the trophy after the milestone race.

Safety-Kleen is a proud partner of Team Kalitta, and it was thrilling to share in this very memorable moment!

Strong showing for Safety-Kleen’s Thad Moffitt at the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 at Superspeedway this past weekend! Thad finished second overall, just 0.069 behind the top spot. To celebrate Tony Stewart’s first win in an NHRA Top Fuel car at the Las Vegas Dragstrip, the Greenwood, Indiana Safety-Kleen branch, led by Jason Farlow, Jeff McKee and Logan Tucker, presented a “win banner” to the Tony Stewart Racing Nitro crew members at their shop in Brownsburg recently. The win for Stewart highlights a career of victories that span Sprint Cars to Indy Cars to NASCAR and now NHRA Top Fuel dragsters. All of us at Safety-Kleen acknowledge Stewart for his career’s worth of accomplishments!

We had a monster-sized event last week as Grave Digger and ThunderROARus paid a visit to our corporate office ahead of their Monster Jam show at Gillette Stadium. Employees and their families had a blast getting an up-close look at these iconic trucks. Special thanks to our local police and fire departments, along with K-9 Teddy for stopping by!

Safety-Kleen teams and drivers have been busy the past few weeks finding their way to Victory Lane:

On March 15, Justin Allgaier held on to win the LiUNA! NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas while driving for Safety-Kleen-sponsored JR Motorsports. The next day, Wood Brothers Racing – which Safety-Kleen has supported since the early 1990s – won the Pennzoil 400 behind driver Josh Berry, marking Berry’s first NASCAR Cup Series victory.

The following weekend started off with a bang, as Kyle Larson, racing for Spire Motorsports with support from Safety-Kleen, drove his Chevrolet Craftsman Truck to victory at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The next day in one of the most dramatic finishes of the season, Allgaier was back at it, taking the lead on the final lap of overtime to win the Hard Rock Bet 300.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the coming weekend and how much hardware our drivers will take home!

The NHRA Gatornationals, an annual NHRA drag race event, was held at Gainesville Raceway this past weekend. Safety-Kleen helped power top finisher Antron Brown, as well as second-place finisher Shawn Langdon. In addition, Safety-Kleen Motorsports collected over 2,000 gallons of used motor oil during the event to be sent to our nearby Ocala Oil Terminal. Our BPS Service Delivery Manager Alex Hilley works with Program Manager Drew Patey to coordinate world class service for this event every year.

INDYCAR kicked off their season last weekend with the Firestone Grand Prix on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. Safety-Kleen Motorsports was of course on hand, set up and ready to reclaim all the fluids the teams produce. This included Team Penske, pictured in the Recycle Center.
