Join us this evening (Sat. 6:30p) for a microcinema screening of SOBER with our friends and community partners The Phoenix “The Phoenix” at Beyond the Bar. We only have a few seats remaining available on The Phoenix NewForm app 🎬

SOBER follows a group of people
who have risen from the ashes of addiction, proving that recovery isn’t just about getting sober, but also about reclaiming joy, strength, and community. The film explores the rise of The Phoenix, a nonprofit founded by Scott Strode, as it evolves from a single man’s journey to sobriety through fitness and connection into a nationwide movement of over one million people united by the power of community in recovery. ❤️‍🔥

Exactly three years ago we were on CBS News Texas with lindsey & community rallying for the historic mid-century modern Como Motel, just a few blocks from our beloved 1958 brise-soleil building. Sadly the Como was demo’d in early 2025, but not without a good preservationist fight! We still have some cool relics and color ways from the Como at our “nonalcoholic liquor store,” and we will still make you a zero-proof ‘Love Nest Libation’ or ‘Como Cooler’ upon request ❤️‍🔥

“That story is now the subject of two docudramas. “There were some good and bad things that happened at the Como, but Sully Sullenberger stayed there as a child and obviously, the Candy Montgomery thing happened…”
