Winston Churchill is a well-known historical figure, but did you know that he's one of history's greatest cigar connoisseurs? The man knew his ci**rs, and he used his knowledge of them to aid in the ending of WW2. Once, minutes before he had a closed-door meeting with some of the most influential men in the world to negotiate ways to end the war, he placed a thin iron rod through the middle of his cigar to prevent the ash from falling off. As the other gents smoked their ci**rs and had to tap out their one-inch ashes, Churchill's cigar burned to an impressive five inches. To the other men in the room, not knowing of the rod running through Winston's cigar, he was viewed as the supreme Alpha male, and they followed his lead. The man was a genius!

Today is a good day for a Guinness -- the world's most iconic brew: rich, smooth, and creamy. The staff of Federal Cigar and Slow Burn Lounge recommend pairing your Guinness with an Umbagog cigar by Dunbarton. This is a photo of Joey from Portsmouth, NH. He came to the Dover Slow Burn Lounge Dover on Friday, 7/19, and took this week's Mystery Beer challenge. Without tasting it, he was able to guess what it was -- first guess -- by the aroma and by "listening to the sound of the hops." He won a Federale cigar for his impressive knowledge of beers. Joey is the real deal -- a cigar smoker who really knows his beers!

If you're up to take on this week's Mystery Beer challenge, and you get it right, I'll give you a free Federale.

Ok, so this is a first…beer connoisseur Seth Frink of Newington, NH, guessed the Dover Slow Burn Lounge Mystery Beer of the week by taking a quick sniff of it — he didn’t have to taste it (he won a Federale cigar for his impressive knowledge of local beers). All onlookers were impressed!
