Let’s talk Falanghina — one of southern Italy’s great native white grapes.
Terre Stregate’s Svelato Falanghina comes from the Iacobucci family in Sannio, an inland area of Campania in the province of Benevento. The winery’s name (“enchanted lands”) is inspired by Benevento’s old folklore and legends of le streghe — the witches.
The vineyards sit among the foothills of the Apennines, where warm Mediterranean days meet cooler mountain nights — giving the wine ripe fruit while preserving freshness and acidity.
The soils here are a mix of limestone-rich clay, marl, and ancient sedimentary deposits, creating Falanghina with both texture and a beautiful mineral edge.
In the glass: Meyer lemon, pear, white peach, citrus blossom, wild herbs, almond, and a touch of saline minerality.
Bright, fresh, and layered — the kind of white that reminds us why Italy’s native grapes are so much fun to explore.
Pair with seafood, burrata, olives, pesto, or a simple afternoon snack plate.
