It’s time for dinner! Join us as we partner with our friends to host Julia Nather, one of the winemakers at Nibiru out of Austria. On Tuesday, October 29th, we’ll get to taste through a lineup of wines from Nibiru, plus a special surprise bottling that Julia’s bringing from their cellar. You’ll enjoy each wine alongside a four course meal by LaLou’s own chef, Ian Anderson.

Seats are $105 plus tax, and there will be an opportunity to purchase your favorite wines from the night as well!

Cocktail Fridays are back and so is whisk(e)y season! The Akashi White Oak Blended Whisky is aged in ex-Bourbon, sochu, and sherry barrels. We think a whisky highball is not only the perfect transitional cocktail, but it also lets the nuances of this whisky shine. Check out our recipe below ⬇️ and grab a bottle of the Akashi in store or online for your new favorite bar cart addition.

Akashi Whisky Highball 🥃

In a highball glass, add 1.5 oz of Akashi White Oak Blended Whisky. Top as desired with soda and plenty of ice. Finish with a lemon twist.

Lassalle at an in-store tasting on Saturday, October 19th from 6pm–8p. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, October 15th as we partner with our friends at NEXUS Club NYC in Tribeca to host an incredible dining experience with Manuel Lozada, CEO of Viña Almaviva. If you’re not familiar with Almaviva, this Chilean winery is the brainchild of Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton and Viña Concho y Toro. This is the best of Chilean terroir paired with world-class French winemaking, and you can experience a flight of select vintages paired alongside a gourmet three course meal prepared by one of NEXUS Club’s excellent chefs.

✨🌞New Staff Pick! 🌞✨ Jenna is loving the Kumpf et Meyer Utopiste from Alsace.

“The Utopiste is one of my favorite summer wines. This Alsatian is 100% Gewurztraminer and sees 15 days on the skin, lending an interesting orange at first sip. It is flirty with tangy tropical fruit yet serious in texture. A bit of a savory wine that holds up well with or without food. Definitely a summer banger.”

We’re on island time ☀️ this week with a couple of wines from one of the most interesting producers to grace our shelves, Paulo Machado, who has lived and worked on Pico Island in the Azores his entire life. Azores wines are heavily influenced by volcanic soils 🌋, warm sun, low rainfall, and salt from the sea.

Back in stock is the Chão de Lava aa Branco—a field blend of traditional Azores varieties and aged sur lie for about one year in small tanks. ‘Lava AA’ is a type of lava flow that dries quickly into large pebbles, which are prevalent in the vineyard site where these grapes are grown. You’ll find some crazy mineral intensity here, which means this is a wine for lovers of Sancerre, white Burgundy, or anything cold, white, and delicious.

You don’t need to tap into your adventurous side to enjoy these wines, but you should fully expect a vacation in a glass 🏖️

Pro-tip: drink more Xarel.lo! If you’ve never had a wine made with Xarel.lo before, why not start with one of the best? Enric Soler is one of the best winemakers in Spain, and without question makes the single best bottling of Xarel.lo. It’s a grape capable of producing some seriously age-worthy wines, which means his wines are highly sought after and super limited.

Best of all? Enric’s wines are all made organically and biodynamically, so you can feel great about what’s in your glass. There’s only a few bottles left of each of these wines, so stop by the shop or head over to our website to claim yours!
