Our annual “GHOST COLONY” shirt is almost here! This year’s Halloween design is yet another completely original design in our series of Outer Banks legends & folklore. We plan to reveal this new original art by local artist Britton Ricketts this coming weekend. In the meantime, we’ll leave you with this interesting little fact as a teaser:

Pamlico Sound is a large estuarine lagoon in North Carolina. The largest lagoon along the North American East Coast, it extends 80 miles long and 15 to 20 miles wide. It is part of a large, interconnected network of similar lagoons that includes Albemarle Sound, Currituck Sound, Croatan Sound, Roanoke Sound, Pamlico Sound, Bogue Sound, Back Sound, and Core Sound.

In the past, we’ve done Halloween designs of the Ghost of Blackbeard, the Goat Man of Nags Head Woods, and the Wendigo of Wanchese. Can anyone guess what this year‘s creature will be?

Get your Bentley’s Beach Bites here!

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: Bentley’s Beach Bites

We love our small local businesses, and this year we created an entry-level sponsorship that allowed more “mom & pop” businesses to support Halloween Island on the street level. With that said, we are excited to partner with Bentley’s Beach Bites for this year’s event as one of our beloved “String of Garlic” level sponsors!

Locally owned & operated by Scott & Becky Hodgson, Bentley’s Beach Bites creates homemade dog treats using only the best & healthiest locally sourced ingredients available. Furry friends go crazy for their flavors, which include Peanut Butter, Camo-Chill (chamomile), and Bacon Egg & Cheese!

Visit Scott & Becky every Saturday at the Manteo Downtown Market at George Washington Creef Park in Downtown Manteo, or pick up Bentley’s Beach Bites at select stores around town including Old Tom's B**r W**e & Provisions and The Hop Shop at Lost Colony Tavern. Questions? Reach out to Becky directly at [email protected]!

We are honored to count Bentley’s Beach Bites among the incredible sponsors of “Halloween Island 3: Rise of the Moondog” — brought to you by Visit The Outer Banks and Kellogg Supply Company!

What a storm! Heavy winds, tornado warnings & quarter-sized hail have knocked out power downtown, so The Hop Shop will be closed this evening. Please join us again tomorrow when we reopen at 11 AM!
