’Twas the night before Christmas, the mead hall was still,
Not a creature was stirring, not even the mill.
The candles burned low by the oak-timbered wall,
As snow drifted softly and hush covered all.

When out of the shadows, so careful, so slow,
Came Santa, boots quiet, his beard all aglow.
He paused by the fire, let the moment sink in,
Then smiled at the bottle with a knowing grin.

Not milk on the table, nor cookies in sight,
But Carrot Blossom Mead in the warm amber light.
Santa moved slowly, no hurry, no rush,
