🌳 Crisp, refreshing, thirst quenching white wines: there’s way more than Sauvignon Blanc. There’s a whole world of wine out there—try something new. Life is too short to drink boring wine.

🍏Here’s some of my favorites:
Albariño
Grüner Veltliner
Melon de Bourgogne
Picpoul
Arneis
Assyrtiko
Hondarrabi Zuri
Vermentino
Cortese
Chenin Blanc
Godello
Aligoté
Sylvaner
Müller-Thurgau
Chasselas
Kerner
Falanghina
Garganega
Pinot Blanc

And I’m a big fan of Project Pat, Three Six Mafia and Bob Ross. Drink a glass of crispy white with any of these and it’ll be a good time.

Honestly, my life is really good despite dealing with the most bu****it disease: ALS. There’s no treatment or any medication for ALS that will make any difference in this terminal disease. But, if you do ask me how I’m doing, I’m going to say I’m doing good, because I honestly am. You get to decide how you perceive your reality and you can focus on gratitude for what you have or you can focus on whats missing. It’s really that simple.

I’m Sally, and together with Steven , we run Denver Wine Merchant. We pour our hearts and souls into what we do and it is a dream to get own and operate our dream wine shop.

I don’t like to talk about ALS all the time because it’s not the focus of my life, it’s just an aspect.

I try to keep things light without ignoring the reality. My goal is to show that you can still have a beautiful life, even if it looks completely different than what you expected. The truth is I am really lucky.

Thank you for reading this and thank you to everyone who supports our shop and content. I’m thankful for you! 🫶🏻

🌷 Fresh 2025 Rosés have arrived 🌸

It’s hard to beat a fresh, crispy rosé — you can taste the energy in the bottle. These are wines from red grapes 🍇 harvested late last year, then direct-pressed or given just enough skin contact to pick up that beautiful color, perfume, and flavor before fermenting off the skins like a white wine. The result is dry, energetic, delicious wine that gives you some of the best qualities of both white and red.

New in the shop:

Outward Rosé of Grenache, Two Wolves Vineyard 2025 — Santa Ynez Valley, California — $26
Müller-Ruprecht Pinot Noir Rosé 2025 — Pfalz, Germany — $23
Âmevive Graciano Rosé, Ibarra-Young Vineyard 2025 — Los Olivos District, Santa Barbara County, California — $32

These are standouts because they are made from excellent fruit from organically farmed vineyards, distinctive sites, and producers trying to make wines with actual character instead of anonymous bulk pink liquid like the junk you find at the grocery store ✅

Drink some! 💚🌈🌸💫💜🍇🍷🩷🌟✨

💫Why you should be drinking Dolcetto💫

It’s a window 🪟 into Piedmont’s new group of young, minimal intervention winemakers whose Nebbiolos are already hard to score. Bacher, Ca’ di Press, and Prandi are three new names to know.

Dolcetto [dohl-CHET-toh] is basically one of the best varieties to pop open on any day of the week. The wines pictured here are all certified bangers.

You can drink Giuseppe Mascarello or other top Barolo producers without spending hundreds. We’d rather drink the Dolcetto from a top winery over a Barolo from an average one.

In Dogliani [doh-LYAH-nee], you can drink the top wines of the whole area for about the price of the cheapest Barolos. Dogliani borders the southern edge of Barolo and is slightly higher and cooler, what Dolcetto prefers. San Fereolo’s 2017 is insanely complex for $47.

What it’s like: The grape shows a more purple-toned fruit and darker color than Nebbiolo. While often they are younger and fresher, some serious examples see extensive neutral cask aging such as San Fereolo. The tannins are about half that of Nebbiolo and the acidity is slightly gentler. The wines are versatile with many foods and juicy enough to drink out of cups at a baseball game.
