Beer Not Water Beer Not Water is our name, increasing water conservation awareness is our game!

Beer Not Water is a community outreach program showcasing the collaborative efforts of the environmental and microbrewery communities in Colorado to conserve water and increase water conservation awareness in fun and creative ways. Working through educational materials and events, the Colorado Environmental Coalition, Colorado Trout Unlimited, the Colorado Brewers Guild, as well as participating

microbreweries across the state are educating the Colorado microbrewery community on relevant water conservation issues in fun and creative ways. Because the microbrew process is water intensive, Beer Not Water focuses largely on ways by which microbreweries are currently maximizing their conservation potential, are offsetting their consumption of water, or are making plans to do so. Regardless of how you feel about the upcoming election, here's a great shout out to the sustainability focus of New Belgium, who's doing a lot of CONSERVE, as well as produce energy:

Some voters in the swing state's Larimer County say too much federal regulation is keeping the U.S. overly reliant on foreign oil. Others argue the government should help businesses move toward sustainability.

New Belgium Brewing and others are doing a whole lot to keep their beer from tasting like ash after the High Park Fire. Cheers to that!

Think of the High Park Fire restoration efforts in terms of beer. Runoff from the burn area is likely to alter the flavor of tap water taken from the Poudre River, and the beer brewing process isn't able to filter those flavors out of your Fat Tire.
