Floral aromas, anise, cherries, spices, licorice, roses, and a touch of wood.
On the palate: Great structure, excellent balance, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity. Flavors of raspberry, blackberry, cherry, pomegranate, and elegant spices.
Pairing: Cuts of meat, suckling pig, risotto, polenta, and gnocchi.

On the way to the Sierra Norte of Jalisco state one encounters an array of diverse indigenous entities. There are four ethnic groups; Coras, Tepehuanos, Huicholes (also known as Wixárika & Mexicaneros.
Esteban Morales (owner of La Venenosa) passionately narrates how he got to know this family that produced “Tepe” back in the day when the travels to the area were easier. The goal being to present the Series of “La Venensosa Etnica” where there is the atemporal goal is to represent all the Ethnic groups that have kept the tradition of crafting their endemic agaves in spirits alive.

Real Minero Tobala Capon!
Real Minero Tobala capon is made with maguey Tobala (Agave potatorum). The agaves used in this mezcal had the quiote cut when they reached maturity. This practice helps to consolidate the sugars, which the agave produces to build it’s tall quiote stalk for reproduction, in the piña of the agave where it can be used for mezcal production. This process is often referred to as capon. The ABV will vary slightly by batch.
