Xoloitzcuintli Plata Fuerte STILL STRENGTH Tequila!

The second in Xoloitzquitle’s Fuerte series. This time with more quiote! Wait, what’s a quiote, you might ask?

The quiote is the part of the agave plant that shoots up as it matures. There’s always a little nub before maturation that is in the pina. Most distilleries will cut this part out as it imparts bitterness. That’s easy, remove it and don’t worry about off flavors coming through in the final product. Or, you can be like Xolo, and harness those flavors, carefully, precisely riding the edge to get some of those intense notes but not too much. And what’s the result? For me, the most beautifully aromatic tequila I’ve had the pleasure of smelling that I can remember. Oh, yeah, and it’s delicious too!

The first impression has intense notes like burned vanilla, to***co, nuts, coffee and maple, developed in aging in the American oak barrel. The sweet cooked agave aroma, dry fruit like peach, apricot and cherry, rose petals integrate the personality of 4 Copas Añejo - harmonious and elegant.

Taste

In the mouth it is sweet and soft. Flavors present are burned vanilla, to***co, nuts, maple and cooked agave.The mouthfeel is intense. The after taste is sweet.

PULQUE is a traditional Mexican beverage obtained through the fermentation of *aguamiel*— the sap extracted from certain varieties of maguey, primarily the *maguey pulquero* (*Agave salmiana*).

Another incredible drop by Rezpiral!

This Series 9 batch Jabali, 58.8%, was made by Alejandrina & Nicolas Hernandez, in the community of Río Seco Zoquitlan, Oaxaca.

Wild Jabalí, matured 10–11 years, cooked in a conical oven, fermented in cypress, and double distilled in copper. Small batch (~400L) — pure, intentional craft.

Jabalí is one of the hardest agaves to produce—its fermentation foams aggressively and demands careful distillation. Lower yields, higher risk, deeper character.

Rezpiral is a spirits label, project and fair trade practice that brings beautiful selections of the highest quality traditional artisanal single-batch (non-certified) Mezcals into a handful of places in the USA & recently Europe.

The wait is over! Releasing Sunday, May 31st at 11am! 🥳🥂

To celebrate 49 years, we teamed up with Tequila Cascahuín for a very special collab release. To best represent our culture and hertiage as Mexicans we went with a 43% ABV single barrel Añejo that was aged for 13 months in a barrel. While slightly different then our typical tequila picks, the Rum barrels better showcase the nuances of the agave within the barrel making for a truly beautiful and delicate tequila.

Expect aromas of vanilla and violet on the nose, followed by papaya, tropical fruits, peanut and dulce de leche across the palate. It all finishes with a layered herbaceous and dry finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Limit 1 bottle per customer with the purchase of one of our single barrel tequilas. Limit 2 for long time supporters. Only 144 bottles available, pours will be available starting at 11am in Osito's Tap next door 😎

A letter from the Owner.

I have spent a lifetime sharing my Chicano culture with the world. Through my art, I’ve tried to give my raza a true representation of their lifestyles and communities, while creating a brand they can call their own.

To learn the story and process of making tequila, we traveled to Jalisco Mexico, and the heart of the industry, the historical town of tequila, lying nestled inside miles of turquoise and red agave fields. There we met with our gracious hosts and partners at Casa Reyes, one of the oldest and most respected distilleries in Jalisco, I experienced the harvesting of the agave, the baking of the piñas in old clay ovens, and the open air yeast fermentation of what are now our own tequila profiles. Blanco, Reposado and Añejo.
