23 weeks after the initial relocation of our outside space (for a 12 week job), we’ve finally got our outside furniture back where it belongs!

And just in time for the lovely weather that’s coming our way 🫠

Guisborough as a town is really suffering at the moment, the scale and length of time the regeneration works are taking are having a real damaging effect on local businesses.

If you’ve visited town recently you’ll have noticed that at least 50% of the parking spaces on Westgate are currently out of action as the works are happening in several locations at the same time.

The works that originally started back on Chaloner Street in spring time are still not completed! The businesses down there have gone through the entire summer completely fenced off and have been told that it won’t be completed until some time in 2027 😳

How this has been allowed to happen is incomprehensible. I’m sure the town will look great once the works are completed but it’s no use doing the works if there are no businesses left to make use of it!

We praised the local council earlier this year for their efforts to make adjustments for local businesses while the works go on, but now it seems that they’ve got their blinkers on and not seeing the damage that’s being done in the short term.

Hopefully the suffering is worth it in the end but we will have to wait and see…

Please support local businesses where you can, they are the ones that really struggle at times like this. The likes of Costa, Greggs, Spoons etc etc won’t give a s**t, they know they’ve got enough backing to get through it.

Christmas Wh**ky Tasting - Mystery Malts Night

Oliver is back with his wonderful wh**ky tasting, but this time it’a with a twist. The bottles that you will be tasting will be a complete mystery, even to Oliver.

The acclaimed independent bottlers Thompson Brothers, based in Dornoch Castle, present a mystery malt night for our entertainment. The distillery and age will only be revealed when unwrapped by the wh**ky sippers on the night!

Saddle up, it's bitter season and we're not horsing around with the cask ale line up in Stokesley over the next few weeks. First up it's a debut from Hambleton Brewery | Gluten Free & Vegan B**rs with this Stallion of a pint. So don't be a foal, gather your neigh-bours and trot on over for a b**r.

Halloween is coming up and what better way to celebrate than by carving us some pumpkins so we don't have to. If you went to Stokesley last Halloween you might remember this e̶x̶c̶e̶l̶l̶e̶n̶t̶ woeful attempt at the Brass Monkey monkey as shown in slide 2. If you think you can do better (it won't take much) then put your pumpkin where your mouth is and carve us something. Any design will be appreciated but we're looking for Brass Monkey themed pumpkins, so think monkeys, think the b**rs we sell, think the w**es, the snacks etc.

Get them in by Friday 30th and we'll vote a winner on the day of Halloween. With the winner receiving a £20 voucher to spend in any of our sites.

As a bonus bit of fun we're having a showdown between Guisborough, Stokesley and Saltburn as we pit them against each other to crown the king of Halloween. No prizes here just bragging rights. So fight for your favourite Brass Monkey and give us something to boast about in the group chat.
