Our Silent Reading Club is moving to fortnightly after next Tuesday’s session.

A drop off in numbers left me with two options :
1) it remains weekly but with a minimum number of readers required (this means it could be cancelled at short notice)
or
2) we move it to fortnightly with a guarantee it will run with no minimum number.

In consultation with my bookworms 📚🪱, we have decided option 2 is the most reliable.
Everything else remains the same - 6.30pm open, reading begins at 7pm until 8.15pm, 9pm close.

Well… that escalated into an absolutely outrageous day 🍻

The Brass Monkey Beer Boutique Pilgrimage was well and truly conquered. 🥾🥾

18 Wynders and 2 loyal hounds set off from Stokesley at 11:30am with fresh legs and questionable decision-making… and somehow 19 Wynders and 2 pups rolled into Saltburn around 6:30pm (don’t ask, we’re still investigating).

Route? Oh, just a casual wander up and over Roseberry Topping, then on through Guisborough, Upleatham, Marske… you know, the scenic way to earn a pint (or several).

The weather gods turned up the thermostat for a laugh 🥵 but luckily we’d planned ahead with some very responsible hydration stops (yes, the Brass Monkey bars… purely for survival purposes, obviously).

Highlights include:
– Not losing anyone (officially)
– Gaining a Wynder somewhere en route
– Two heroic pups keeping morale high
– Legs that may never forgive us

Shoutout to the untaggable legends: Mal, Shaun, Sarah, Stu and the Costello crew 👊

Same time next year… or are we all still lying down?

And despite the rain today, the forecast is looking better for tomorrow’s Palegrimage. We are meeting at Brass Monkey Beer Boutique Stokesley at 11am with the aim of setting off no later than 11.30am. Make sure you’re prepared with snacks and WATER!!
