Nestled in the vibrant neighbourhood of Bowness, Brewsmith Brewing Co. is our newest Calgary brewery. Brewsmith is passionate about brewing exceptional beers that bring people together. They're dedicated to creating a space where friends, family, and neighbours can gather, enjoy great beer, delicious food, and make lasting memories.
We are so excited to have a mini TAP TAKEOVER on our growler bar, for all of us "Southies" who haven't made it to the taproom to celebrate their opening.
On tap #1 we have Nonna Approved Italian Cookie Ale @ 4.3%, which is a low ABV, high flavour beer. This amber/red ale base is brewed with various malts including Hogarth's Pale Ale Malt, Melany Malt, Chocolate Rye, and Carahell. Copious amounts of vanilla, hazelnut, and almond fill your glass with nostalgic smells of home baked cookies. Don't let these flavours fool you, this is NOT a sweet beer. Pair this beer with coffee cake, biscotti, or chocolate lava cake.
On tap #7 we have Platinum Pour Hazy IPA @ 6.2%. This is the brewery's second IPA in their "Metal Hazy IPA" series. Featuring a malt bill of 50% Barley malt, 50% Wheat malt, Hallertau Blanc, Idaho 7, Mosaic, and Citra hop extracts, Centennial and Motueka hops. This easy drinking IPA is hazy and juicy with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Flavours of citrus, pine, and nectarine make this an easy drinking pint for a night in with someone you love.
On tap #13 we have Berrylicious Cream Ale @ 3.3%. This cream ale is amped up with strawberries, blackberries, and sweet dark cherry...yum! A light touch of vanilla makes the aroma of this beer reminiscent of a strawberry swirl cake.
Also keep your eyes out for their Signature Pub Ale @ 4%. This is one of their core beers and we have it available in 473ml cans. This is a quaffable malt forward session ale brewed with Red Shed Parkland Pale and the best English specialty malts. In the glass you get flavours of bread, coffee, toffee and chocolate with light bitterness that makes this a beautiful introductory Pub Ale that you can drink all night and pair with most savoury dishes.
