In Memoriam: Sam Neill

Renowned internationally as a master of both stage and screen, Sam Neill was equally celebrated as the passionate founder of Two Paddocks (mistakenly recalled by some as Two Hands) in Central Otago, New Zealand. https://ilj.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/6a56e783d94d6cdb0074cd91

Located just outside Bordeaux, Château Haut-Bailly has stood in the midst of a single-block, 30-hectare vineyard for over four centuries.
Haut-Bailly’s reputation as one of the greatest Bordeaux w**es dates back to the 19th century and the word “outstanding“ most often associated with the château reflects the superb quality of its w**es. The estate has very stringent standards that entail using a combination of traditional and modern methods which respect the environment. https://ilj.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/69f580f8e7d261393c61e237

Penfolds’ renowned 2000 Grange is only the fifth vintage to be made from 100% Shiraz (the others being 1951, 1952, 1963, and 1999). It is also, atypically, 100% Barossa fruit. While it is not considered to be one of the great Granges https://ilj.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/69ddbc62a5ba67a671e18078

2001 Diana Madeline 97/100 Points Jeremy Oliver
Over the decades, the blend has shifted slightly. While it started as a Cabernet Merlot, modern vintages of the Diana Madeline are often dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (sometimes over 90%), with smaller amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. https://ilj.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/69d7233399c57bb6a2307c4f

1999 Jim Barry The McRae Wood Shiraz 1999 Cellar Release 6L
"The w**e is brilliant red to black in color, showing vanillin American oak with a blackberry and spice bouquet. The palate displays good length of fruit with rich blackberry, plums and spice flavors." - W**emaker Notes

"Attractive w**e; a decade in bottle has seen it move from primary to full-on secondary flavours, the tannins largely gone, although enough remain to provide structure." , James Halliday https://ilj.soundestlink.com/ce/v/0/69cca2c0d95e732230bc647c
