Hilton vs Michaelhouse – 2 May Derby Day
One of the most anticipated days on the Hilton College calendar is almost here. The annual winter fixture against Michaelhouse celebrates schoolboy sport, tradition and community - and we’re looking forward to welcoming supporters for a memorable day on campus.

🎟️ Tickets & Bookings
* All tickets (for parking and gazebo sites) must be purchased in advance from Webtickets: https://www.webtickets.co.za/v2/event.aspx?itemid=1593590862
or at participating Pick n Pay Webtickets counters.
* Vehicle access requires a valid car sticker — no sticker, no entry.

🚗 Access & Parking
* Car stickers must be displayed clearly on arrival. Fetch them from the Avenues Centre in Hilton (between 12pm and 6pm on Friday 1 May, and between 6am and 2pm on Saturday 2 May).
* No parking is permitted on Hilton College Road outside the gates.
* A drop‑and‑go zone will be available for pedestrians.
* Parking will be a little further from the fields this year to ease congestion and improve traffic flow.

🪑 Seating & Spectator Areas
* Extra temporary grandstands will be in place.
Around Gilfillan Field:
✅ Cushions only
❌ No deck chairs or blankets
❌ No reserving space before 06am on Saturday

Chairs and blankets are welcome elsewhere on campus, well away from Gilfillan.

⛺ Gazebos & Set‑ups
* No gazebos permitted near Gilfillan (except a small number for official guests).
* A limited number of gazebo sites will be available on Lombard Field (short walk from Gilfillan). These must be booked online in advance
* First come, first served

Families are encouraged to picnic across the campus, helping create a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.

🍴 Food & Hospitality
* Feel free to bring modest picnic provisions.
❌ No private/external caterers
❌ No generators, gas or external power sources

The Fleur‑de‑Lys Club will be open, along with a range of food vendors on campus.
