The pink rooster on this label comes from Domaine Charlopin Tissier. Yann Charlopin and Justine Tissier met as w**e students, and in 2013 they started with 1.08 hectares of her family's vines in Marsannay, the Burgundy village most people drove past on their way to Gevrey-Chambertin.
Two of their 2022 Pinot Noirs just landed on our shelf:
Marsannay 2022: cherry, wild strawberry and a little earth. Fresh enough for a weeknight dinner.
"La Montagne" Marsannay 2022: a 0.46-hectare parcel at the top of the village, 16 months in barrel. Wild strawberry, dark cherry, dried herbs. Open it early and give it some air.
