Dominus Estate traces its roots to the historic Napanook vineyard in Yountville, one of Napa Valley’s earliest vineyard sites, first planted in 1836. The estate is owned by Christian Moueix, who recognized the potential of the property in 1981 and built Dominus into one of Napa Valley’s benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines. Produced entirely from estate-grown fruit, Dominus reflects a philosophy centered on site expression, balance, and longevity rather than overt power.

The 2023 vintage benefited from a long, cool growing season marked by abundant winter rainfall and remarkably stable weather throughout the year. The extended ripening period allowed the grapes to develop flavor, tannin, and acidity in harmony, resulting in wines noted for freshness, precision, and structure. Across Napa Valley, 2023 is already being regarded as one of the region’s standout recent vintages for Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dominus 2023 is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. The wine shows aromas of cedar, wild berry fruit, cocoa, and spice, supported by a finely detailed structure and polished tannins. Concentrated yet restrained, it combines depth and elegance with the balance and freshness expected to support long-term cellaring.

Petit-Figeac 2020 is produced by Château-Figeac, the historic Saint-Émilion estate owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892. The wine is made entirely from grapes grown on the Château-Figeac property and reflects the estate’s signature style shaped by its rare gravel soils and blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.

The château describes the 2020 vintage as combining freshness with concentration after a warm and sunny growing season. Petit-Figeac is crafted to show the elegance and balance of the estate in a more accessible style, with refined tannins, freshness on the palate, and earlier approachability while maintaining the structure and precision associated with Château-Figeac.

Château Pichon Baron 2023 reflects the estate’s continued focus on precision, balance, and the expression of Pauillac’s historic gravel terroir. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine shows layered dark fruit, freshness, structure, and the depth that has long defined the château’s identity on Bordeaux’s Left Bank.

Located beside Château Latour, the estate describes the 2023 vintage as both refined and powerful, shaped by careful vineyard selection and a continued commitment to preserving the character of its oldest plots. The result is a wine built for long aging while already showing remarkable harmony and elegance in its youth.

A classic Pauillac with the structure collectors expect from Pichon Baron and the restraint that makes the vintage especially compelling.

Join us on Friday, May 22nd from 3–5 PM for a tasting with Lobos 1707. We’ll be pouring the Joven, Reposado, and Extra Añejo expressions, offering a look at how aging and barrel finishing shape each tequila’s profile.

Lobos 1707 is produced from 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from Jalisco, Mexico. The tequilas are finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels, adding layered notes of oak, dried fruit, and sweetness across the range. The lineup includes varieties from the unaged Joven to the richly matured Extra Añejo, each showing a different balance of agave character and barrel influence.

An afternoon with Norbert Reinisch from Braida at Westhampton Fine Wine, tasting through a lineup that perfectly captured Braida’s balance of tradition and energy.

In the glass: Braida’s vibrant Moscato d’Asti — bright, floral, and effortlessly refreshing — alongside beautifully expressive Piedmont wines that showcase the character and versatility of the region. Always special hearing the stories, history, and philosophy directly from the people behind the bottles. Salute to an incredible visit and tasting.

Join us this Saturday, May 16th from 3–6 PM for a Chartreuse tasting at Westhampton Fine Wine featuring three signature cocktails with Chartreuse Green & Yellow.

Chartreuse traces back to a manuscript given to Carthusian monks in 1605 containing a recipe for an herbal “elixir of long life.” More than 400 years later, the liqueur is still produced by the monks in France using a complex blend of 130 plants, flowers, and botanicals that gives Chartreuse its unmistakable character.
