Big thanks to Tweed’s and Southern Glazers for hosting us at an incredible educational pairing dinner last week. Our teams from Hamptons Wine Shoppe and Vintage Mattituck had a blast tasting, learning, and eating our way through the night.

Kristina couldn’t get enough of the burrata with caramelized onions and Don Julio Cristalino, while Nate was all about the Talisker 10 on local Peconic Gold oysters – that smoky-salty combo was on point. And of course, the Casamigos Reposado Espresso Martini was the perfect way to cap it all off! Always a good time when we get the crews together.

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, we’re raising a glass to Kristina—our fearless General Manager who keeps this place running like a well-oiled wine machine.

A Certified Sommelier, Riesling enthusiast, and all-around girl boss, Kristina doesn’t just know her wine—she makes it! In fact, she and her husband bonded over their love of wine, started making it together, and even gifted their wedding guests bottles of their own creation. Iconic!

When she’s not running the show here, you can find her in her garden, experimenting in the kitchen, or jamming to boybands (she is a ‘90s baby after all!). And if there’s a cocktail in hand? Expect something inspired by her recent travels—currently a Piña Colada or Bailey’s Banana Colada from her time in Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands.

Kristina is the embodiment of strength, creativity, and passion, and we’re lucky to have her leading the charge. Here’s to Kristina and all the amazing women out there today!

Spain Trip 2025: Day 1
We arrived in Madrid at 8am and took the 4 hour drive to La Rioja, stopping along the way for a surprisingly delicious gas station breakfast. Classic tortilla (egg omelet), Torta de chorizo con queso and Jamon Iberico.
Our first official stop was in the town of Leza at Bodega Aiurri, a relatively new winery that sits at the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria mountains. The project is the latest endeavor by Alma Carrovejas. With over 60 parcels of old vines in Rioja Alavesa this small but well funded outfit is producing exceptionally fresh and exciting examples of modern Rioja.
