It’s been exactly seven months without Tommy Derr. Today would have been his 95th birthday. If he were here, he’d have a desk full of homemade desserts and eat them all within a day. He’d laugh at the stories you’d share when you stopped by to wish him a good one. We’d read him every birthday wish on social media and he’d say “this is unbelievable.” Grief is hard because one minute you are smiling at all the memories or cracking jokes about “what would Pappy say?!” And the next minute, you’re filled with sadness that the person you leaned on for so many decades is gone. Today is a hard one trying to celebrate what would have been his special birthday. But, he wouldn’t want us to be sad. He’d want us to grab a cold one, share funny stories, and eat all the desserts. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Tommy/Pops/TD/Pappy. We love you and miss you endlessly ❤️‍🩹
