Now that the 4th is past and Summer is in full swing, many of you will be trying to get a little fun in before August, and back-to-school season, is upon us. And this is the time of year for camp-outs and float trips! And we are going to go ahead and assume that alcohol will be involved (call it a hunch), and Vern's is here to give you a few tips on how to maximize your fun while consuming any adult beverage:
*Stay away from the sugary stuff - sure, a fruity and sweet drink may be refreshing at first on a hot, steamy day, but all that sugar and carbs will eventually lead to dehydration symptoms, which might include dry mouth, headaches, and fatique. If you are looking for drinks, we suggest anything low carb or low sugar to help minimize any ill effects from the Sun.
*Drink H20... then drink some more - nothing is better for your body than water to keep you hydrated, so do it, and do it often. Trade off drinking alcohol with drinking water. Sure, you'll have to hit the bathroom up more, but that's better than experiencing hangover effects due to too much alcohol and not enough water in you!
*Eat food periodically - eating before you start your day drinking can help your body absorb alcohol faster, thereby slowing down your potential affected state and risk of dehydration. Bring some snacky foods you can gnosh on in between those brewskis!
