Iran war live: Tehran says Hormuz ‘security restored’ if US agrees to plan

Iran says if the United States accepts its demands “both security will be restored to the Strait of Hormuz and the negotiation process will begin in a short period of time”.

US President Donald Trump says the war on Iran will end “very soon one way or the other” warning Tehran will either make a deal or “the hammer” will come down.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says two crude oil tankers caught fire after hitting sea mines in Hormuz as Gulf nations condemn Friday’s attack on a Qatari LNG carrier.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says talks with mediators over a two-day plan to reopen the strait are ongoing and expressed hope the US has “enough sense to choose diplomacy“.

Tehran says it passed a proposal through Qatari mediators to the US and it's now up to Washington to decide.

Stock Market Today: Stock Futures Recover After Friday's Selloff
Oil slides on signs Mideast escalation may be avoided for now

U.S. tech stocks look set to stabilize after Friday's slide.

In premarket trading, Intel, Nvidia and SpaceX are among the stocks posting gains.

Movements before the bell are no guarantee of how the trading day will pan out, but, for now at least, the selloff that led the Nasdaq composite to finish October with a 5.3% loss seems to have paused.

Apple and Palantir are due to report earnings after markets close later.

Stocks have a helping hand from oil. Crude prices are down after Axios reported that President Trump had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he wanted to give diplomacy with Iran another shot.

In a busy week for markets, investors are also watching Tuesday's midterm elections in the U.S., which will determine which party controls Congress, and Friday's jobs report.

👉As they prepared to drive away, his congregation gathered around, weeping and pleading with them not to leave. Overwhelmed by their deep affection, Fawcett’s wife, Mary, reportedly said, "John, I cannot bear this. I know not how to go." Fawcett replied, "Nor can I, either. We shall unpack the wagon and stay." Florida residents describe 'super big explosion' when small jet plummeted 'like a missile' from sky and slammed into the ground, killing all nine on board

A Florida family has described how their apartment was left 'shaking' when a business jet plummeted to the ground 'like a missile' on Sunday, killing all nine people on board.

The frightened mother and son were just about to leave their home in Greenacres at around 12.50pm when the $2 million Learjet 60 traveling from Texas crashed near the intersection of Military Trail and 10th Avenue North in what the mother said 'felt like a super big explosion.'

'It sounded, like, very massive, huge,' she told Fox News, recounting how her son ran up to her, terrified, in the aftermath.
