When government feels cornered or threatened, they often resort to various strategies to maintain control or stability. This can include tightening censorship, increasing surveillance, cracking down on dissent, consolidating power, or even resorting to authoritarian measures.

In Tlaquepaque, federal authorities served a search warrant and seized a house that was used as an adulterated tequila factory.
No arrests were reported, however, implements for making the drink were seized.
The procedure was carried out on Miguel Hidalgo Street, in Colonia San Francisco, derived from a complaint filed by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), reported the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Jalisco, of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR). .
In addition to the federal authorities, including the National Anti-Kidnapping Coordination, specialized experts from the FGR and representatives of the CRT, defender of the Denomination of Origin of tequila, were present.
In total, 1 drum, 5 jugs containing an unidentified liquid, several labels, more than 540 glass bottles, 56 jars, 9 plastic packaging, 2 stills, 1 distillation equipment, 3 pots and 1 scale were seized.
Also laboratory equipment consisting of 1 pipette base, 9 breathalyzers, 2 tubes, 2 pipettes, 1 thermometer, 3 test tubes, 9 beakers, 2 glass tubes, 1 box with a digital decimeter, 1 kit to measure PH, 1 microscope and 1 refractometer.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office, previously known as the state delegation of the FGR, closed the home and opened a file against whoever is responsible for crimes against health and industrial property.
