Balcones Baby Blue is made from 100% roasted blue corn, giving it a naturally sweet, nutty character with notes of kettle corn, vanilla, brown sugar and toasted grain.

The Texas Rye takes a completely different route. It’s 100% rye, bottled in bond at 100 proof, with plenty of spice and deeper notes of tea, graham cracker and baking spices.

Some wines are fancy because they come in a nice bottle. This one decided to bring the whole presentation.

J. Lohr Signature Cabernet Sauvignon, presented in a beautiful wooden case with individual wrapped bottles, is the kind of wine you open when the occasion deserves a little extra.

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon. 2015 vintage. Signature collection. And yes, the packaging is absolutely part of the experience.

Bottle sizes can get a little confusing, so here’s your quick liquor bottle cheat sheet:

• Mini: 50 mL, about 1 shot
• Half pint: 200 mL, about 4 shots
• Half bottle: 375 mL, about 8 shots
• Standard: 750 mL, about 17 shots
• Magnum: 1.5 L, about 34 shots
• Handle: 1.75 L, about 39 shots

So when someone says “grab a handle,” now you know exactly what they mean.
