This Sat. May 30, discover how the denizens of Veneto enjoy la dolce vita as we taste Soave selections from Inama winery, for free.

Soave is an Italian white wine made from the Garganega grape - this “Soave Classico” refers to the central, hilly Soave region in northern Italy west of Venice.

It has a wonderful, viscous texture with flavors of chamomile flowers and mild cantaloupe with fresh minerality.

It's easy to match with food at a price Inami calls "a little luxury for everyday."

We'll be pouring a Rosso and Cabernet as well.

This Sat. May 23, our free tasting is the legendary California vs France cage match.

The 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting was organized by British wine merchant Steven Spurrier and was held on May 24, 1976. There were ten Chardonnays and ten Bordeaux/CA cabernet wines – five from each country. To the surprise of many, especially some of the judges, the California wines came out on top!

As this is the 50th anniversary, we decided to pull out all of the stops and feature current vintages of four of the actual wines that were tasted during the event and, no surprise, essentially all four of them have become icons and/or unicorns in their own right since that time.

The tasting will be from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at both the Queen Anne and Ravenna shops.

This Sat. May 16, join us to taste Txakoli wines from Gaintza in the Basque region of Spain, for free.

Winemaker Joseba Lazkano will lead the tasting. He and his brother Urtzi, are the fourth generation of the family to make Txakoli from vineyards on the hills above the fishing town of Getaria, where soils are a shallow layer of clay and chalk over deep granite.

Pronounced "CHAH-koh-lee," Txakoli wines are thirst-quenching, refreshing and make for excellent pairings with the bounteous local seafood that we are blessed with here in the PNW.

Joseba will be pouring selections at the Ravenna shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at Queen Anne from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30.

This Sat. May 9, join us for a free tasting of Cabernet and Chardonnay from Sonoma's Far Mountain Winery.

The winery's founders Rodrigo Soto and Mai Errazuriz, pictured here, met at a New Year's even party in NYC. Both from Chile, he had decades of experience in organic grape growing techniques in North and South America; she worked in banking in NYC and now focuses on the marketing and business side of Far Mountain.

In 2025, Antonio Galloni (Vinous.com) named Far Mountain as his “Emerging Producer to Watch”, describing them as “one of the most exciting new projects in California” who “craft gorgeous, old-school wines of place”.

Come and see for yourself why Far Mountain is considered a quintessential boutique winery that focuses on dry-farmed, cool climate Cabernet and Chardonnay from Sonoma Valley.

The tasting will be from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at both the Queen Anne and Ravenna shops.

Come drink pink with us this Sat. May 1, in our free tasting of Provençal rosé from Peyrassol.

Known for producing light, elegant rosés primarily from Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle (Vermentino), we’re confident that you won’t be disappointed by the newest vintage release.

Peyrassol is quite literally steeped in history as it was founded over 800 years ago, in 1204, by the Knights Templar. Nestled in the foothills of the Massif des Maures mountains, it sits between Cannes and Marseille, less than ten miles from the Mediterranean.

For this Sat. April 25 free tasting, we’re going to pop on over to the relatively unknown Italian region of Marche and the Velenosi Vini winery.

Their hillside vineyards overlook the Adriatic Sea, at almost 1,000 feet above sea level, and their clay and limestone soils contribute to the finesse and structure of their delicious wines.

The Velenosi story started in 1984, when husband and wife, Angela and Ercole, founded Velenosi Vini, taking advantage of an Italian government agricultural project that motivated young people to move from cities to the countryside in an effort to rebuild the local winemaking business.

In the over forty years since, Velenosi has expanded, producing 34 wines from 148 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of 2.5 million bottles that circle the globe to 52 countries.

They have been recognized by Wine Spectator as one of Italy’s top wineries and Velenosi continues to broaden and refine the reputation of the wines of Marche.

Pouring selections at both the Queen Ann and Ravenna shops 11a.m to 5:30p.m.

This Sat. April 18, get your palate reset or pre-set to classic wines from Piedmont, Italy, for free.

We'll be pouring selections from Castello di Verduno, an historic Piemontese estate that makes classic Barolo and Barbaresco from prime vineyard sites in both appellations.

Verduno is most know for the local Pelaverga varietal, the deliciously fine, elegant, floral and red-fruited wine from the region. Recently, though, its Barolo crus have garnered more and more attention.

The winery’s philosophy is to produce wines that speak of place in a classic way and are also sustainable and protect the land.

Come taste and learn at both the Ravenna and Queen Anne shops between 11a.m. and 5:30p.m this Sat.

Free Tasting: Tenuta La Viola

If you love wines with soul, story, and a sense of place, come by the shops this Sat. April 4.

We’re pouring selections from Tenuta La Viola, a family winery from the hills of Bertinoro, in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.

The Gabellini family grow Sangiovese and Albana on their 10 hectares of land. They’ve cultivated the property for over 60 years with the focus of indigenous varieties while farming in line with organic and biodynamic practices.

Come taste dedication and classic flavor in a glass.

This Sat. March 28, close the book on Washington Wine Month with our staff and their picks.

Over the years, the state has become known not just for Rhone and Bordeaux varietals, but also an emerging variety of grapes more commonly found in Italy, Spain and even South America. The collection may seem somewhat eclectic, but each of the selections we’ve made are standouts in their own right and a fantastic representation of Washington wines.

We'll be pouring a rotating selection at both the Queen Anne and Ravenna shops 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
