Redwood Empire “The Hyperion” (Batch 001) is a highly ambitious, limited-edition blend of four distinct straight wh***ey styles launched in August 2026. The Blend Breakdown
To showcase their curated inventory, Redwood Empire combined 79 mature barrels spanning more than 10 different mash bills sourced across four states: California, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
• 32% Straight Bourbon
• 30% Straight Rye
• 25% Straight Wheat Wh***ey
• 13% American Single Malt (distilled 100% in-house, grain-to-glass by Redwood Empire.
The component stocks are aged between 7 and 14 years (carrying an official 7-year age statement). The components entered the barrels at 110 to 120 proof in char #3 oak, were married together, and further matured in Northern California’s cool coastal climate. It is bottled unfiltered at 110 proof (55% ABV) with a total production run of approximately 12,000 bottles.

Despite the aggressive blending of four completely different spirit categories, critics and enthusiast reviews note that the wh***ey is remarkably cohesive, complex, and drinks below its 110 proof.
▶️Nose: Opens with a solid oak backbone, California walnut, roasted apricots, toasted wheat bread, and sweet barley sugar.
▶️Palate: Very fruity and rich. Initial notes of caramel apple, pomegranate molasses, sweet cream, and stone fruits shift into darker profiles of raisins, figs, and milk chocolate toward the back. Warm baking spices, nutmeg, and cinnamon provide a balanced heat.
▶️Finish: Medium to long, tapering into espresso, dark malt, black tea, toffee, and a subtle lingering hint of oak.
