BACK IN THE '70'S WHEN I WAS A NOVICE, GERMANY HAD TROUBLE RIPENING EVEN THE COOL CLIMATE REISLING THAT HAS GROWN THERE FOR MILLENIA. RECENT WARMING HAS ENABLED THE RIPENING OF PINOT NOIR AND CHARDONNAY WITH CLONES, W**EMAKING AND VITICULTURAL TECHNIQUES IMPORTED FROM BURGUNDY WITH ASTONISHING RESULTS!!! THE DISTINCTIVE MINERAL TERROIRS OF GERMANY HAVE PUT AN EXTRAORDINARY STAMP UPON THESE CLASSIC BURGUNDIAN GRAPE TYPES. NEW GENERATIONS OF W**EMAKERS AND VITICULTURALISTS ARE PILGRAMMAGING TO BURGUNDY AND BRINGING BACK TECHNIQUES FROM SOME OFTHE WORLDS BEST PRODUCERS

THE PINOT NOIR OF THE PAST HAD AN ACID THAT COULD MELT PAINT. TODAY THEY ARE GORGEOUS, RIPELY FRUITED, BALANCED, AND SPORTING ALMOST IMPERCEPTIBLE TANNINS. LOVELY NOW, AND TRULY WORTHY OF AGEING. THE CHARDONNAYS SPORT THE FRENCH BALANCE OF FRUIT, ACID AND ELEGANT MODERATE TEXTURE WITH A PURELY UNIQUE GERMAN MINERALITY IN TOW! BRILLIANT!
