Solo Vino Wines Solo Vino is an independent wine shop located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood of St. Paul. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our inventory is always changing to keep up with the fast moving world of wine. Today, our shop inventory consists of about 95% imports and 5% domestic producers. We like to be the voice of the smaller, artisan vineyards that often times goes unheard. In the last five years we have developed a passion for wines from the Iberian Peninsula, over 50% of our sales annually are wines from this region.

Whether you’re looking for a small, growers Champagne or your favorite Cabernet from Napa. Let us know, if it’s not in the shop we would love to special order it.

Friday eve and we’ve got your lineup for tomorrow’s tasting with Tyler from Lompian Wines.
Lineup features all new wines to our shop:

Michel Fonne classic dry Riesling.

Vicario Bierzo (region in NW Spain) Godello (grape type), a snappy but full bodied white.

Giraudon Bourgogne Aligote, a less often seen white varietal wine from the Burgundy region of France.

From Vicario of Spain again we have a chillable Petit Verdot red.

And from north-central Italy the Cappuccina Campo Buri. It’s a Carmenere/Ocelete blend. If you’ve never heard of Ocelete… you can ask Tyler on Friday!

And finally not your typical boxed wine…a Bordeaux in a REAL wooden box with 3 liters (4 bottles) of wine.

Friday and it feels like summer!! Stop in and join us for this delightful tasting lineup a tour of the wine world:

Starting off in Hungary’s Tokaj region, the first white is Kvaszinger (and the grape type is) Sarga Muskotaly aka as Yellow Muscat, a mouthful of plump, dry fruit.

Then we go to Mexico’s Baja peninsula, but a cooler spot than most of the wineries occupy in that area with a mostly female winemaking team. It’s the Mision 22 white, a blend of Chenin Blanc and Colombard. The first red is also from Santo Thomas winery in the Baja, the Mision 23 a blend of Carignan, Mision (aka Pais) and Tempranillo

Then off to Greece with Agriogitiko, a rose called Mountain Sun.

Finally, we go to the west coast of Turkey, to Kaz Daglari for the last red. A Karasakiz from Pasaeli winery grown at high altitude. A single vineyard Karasakiz, I bet everyone’s first chance to taste one of those!

It’s summer cool-down refreshment Thursday at Solo Vino with Katie on her “First Thursday” presenting canned beverages that are easy to tote and sip poolside or on a picnic.

The Eden ciders are proven favorites at the shop, Peak Bloom, Trail Sider and their Brut Rose all derived from heirloom apple varieties…. And the Shrubs, not a small bush but a traditional tart, lively elixir that was popular in Revolutionary times, just ask Benjamin Franklin….. or Katie.

Spontaneous Tasting Time! Arlen and Karin have a this Excelsior Chardonnay from South Africa open.

The family has been making wine since the 1600s. The land used to for champion thoroughbred horses but now used to make delicious, affordable wines. This Chardonnay has notes of lime, yellow apple, slate, and a hint of oak. The acid is super refreshing for a warm day. Perfect with fish or lightly spiced chicken dishes.

Integrale is an unfiltered pet-nat, spirited and lively
