Last night the troop celebrated with a court of honor. The pot luck was delicious, and there were plenty of awards handed out. We celebrated 2 new eagles, and a third forthcoming.

On Saturday Troop 99 did a day of service. allows us every year to give back to our amazing community. Part of being a scout is giving back. Thanks to Catoosa County for providing us the opportunity to plant some trees which beautifies our lovely community park.

Troop 99 has been weighing and considering what the recent changes in Scouting mean for the troop. After the announcement in late 2025 that family troops were now an option we began talking about what the future looked like for our group. This stated with the Key 3, expanded out to the rest of the troop leadership, the troop committee, and input from parents and the current members of the troop. Through those discussions the consistent question was this, "What is best for Troop 99?". While I know that not everyone will be in 100% agreement with any decision that is made we wanted to make sure that we heard from everyone and that everyone felt that their voice and thoughts had been considered. Therefore we took our time and did not try to make a final decision before the recharter in December. Through this process we believe that for the best path forward for Troop 99 is to transition from a boys only troop to a family troop.

Our first official meeting as a family troop will be on Monday April 6th. If you have interest in joining our troop please reach out to us and let us help you. We are excited about the future of Troop 99 and what the opportunities that this changes represents. This move also creates logistical challenges and we need parents (Male and Female) to step up and help us conquer those challenges. Register as an adult leader, participate in troop activities and join us on hikes and campouts. We believe that 99 is poised for growth and we need the help. Talk to any of our current adult leaders or reach out specifically to myself or our scoutmaster Jonathan Raines and we will be happy to assist you in getting connected.

Please let know how 99 can help you enjoy scouting and all the being a scout can provide!

Thank You,

Kevin Trobaugh
Troop 99 Committee Chair

We had an action packed weekend. First we had torrential rains Friday night and copious amounts of mud to deal with on Saturday. But spirits were high when we helped our friends at Girls Cub Scout Pack 3070 & BSA Troop 1070 - Ringgold with an eagle project. Then we assisted Dade GA Scouts Troop 29, Troop 1029 & Pack 3229 with Baloo and IOLS. It was 48 hours of nonstop action and scouting spirit!

This weekend Troop 99 took a walk on the Laurel Snow section of the Cumberland Trail. It was a chilly weekend and some of the scouts learned to dealt with frozen water bottles and slow cooking for the first time. The important thing is everyone had a great time and no one was too cold.

Second day of racing at Talladega. It was an interesting night! We had storms come through and there were a few easy up shelters that were damaged throughout the camp. Luckily ours were secured and no damage was done. A few of our people woke up to upside down easy ups on their tents from our neighbors. After the clouds left and the track dried, it was a great day of racing!
