I would like to know what is wrong with people....As most of you know I have a brand new Point of Sale system. It requires that an ID be scanned when a customer is purchasing an age restricted item.

1.I don't make the laws I am just required to abide by them ( just like the rest of the world).

2. Is having an attitude towards a cashier who is simply doing their job acceptable?

3. Is throwing your ID on the counter acceptable while expressing your unhappiness?

4. There is age restrictions and the Liquor Commission does "stings" to see if cashiers are selling to minors.

5. You can find the history of all the " stings" on line so go look it up if you want to educate yourself.

6. Do I want to ever pay the State of NH another fine? No I don't!!!

So please treat the staff with respect. It's not hard to present an ID for an age verification scan. It's not hard to be kind.

I am NOT the only business requiring age verification for to***co and alcohol sales and having customers cursing and getting angry with us is absurd and honestly NOT very adult like.

My goal is to abide with age restriction laws and ensure the children of the community are not purchasing to***co and alcohol at my business. This shouldn't be an argument, I would expect all customers to better support my diligence however that is not the case here and it is very upsetting.

Just a heads up....and a reminder. Effective today we have a new Point of Sale system. The system requires that an ID be scanned when purchasing age restricted items. We posted a sign for the last few months to inform customers of this upcoming change. ID's are required by Law for such purchases. Today we had numerous customers upset to the point of walking out. It amazes me that a simple request to see an ID angers some people. The Majority of retailers have made this mandatory. I do not need my cashiers selling to minors when items have age restrictions for purchase. Even though it is a LAW to provide an ID I have had customers get angry with my staff and walk out. There is nothing I can do to change this. I am doing my diligence and complying with Federal laws. Please be nice to the cashiers and understand they nor I have control over Age Restriction Laws!!!! I also do not tolerate childish , hateful behavior towards my staff when they are simply doing what is required of them.

Just a reminder that you MUST be 21 to purchase alcohol and to***co products. Some of you may already know that we have now implemented and ID scanner that verifies the age requirement laws. Please remember when purchasing these items either here or at any retailer you MUST have your valid ID to make a successful purchase.

Why should we pay cash everywhere with banknotes instead of a card ?
- I have a $50 banknote in my pocket. Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it.
The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry.
The laundry owner then uses the bill to pay the barber.
The barber will then use the bill for shopping.
After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $50 value, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made.
BUT
IF I come to a restaurant and pay digitally via Card,
- the bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50
( and so will be the fee of $1.50 for each further payment transaction )
-for the owner re laundry or
- payments of the owner of the laundry shop,
- or payments of the barber etc.....
Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial $50 will exist at only $5 and the remaining $45 has become the property of the bank … thanks to all of the digital transactions and fees!
Use it or lose it folks…
Once it’s gone we won’t get it back!
Cash is king!

I want to thank everybody who came forward with information regarding my post yesterday. The post has been removed now that we have the names of all the subjects involved. I am amazed at the support and kindness of our followers and community members. The situation has been fully turned over to the Allenstown Police Department. It is unfortunate that as business owners we have to deal with theft on a regular basis. I will continue to post pictures in the future if thefts take place at my business to promote community awareness, to protect my business and hopefully other businesses as well. I suggest that all businesses do the same so that we can all stick together to protect our and our employee's future.
