Envínate “Lousas” Doad 2024 — $68 | Ribeira Sacra

Lousas is Envínate’s Ribeira Sacra project — named for the slate soils that define the appellation’s dramatic river canyon vineyards. Doad is one of their single-parcel expressions: old-vine Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Brancellao, and Merenzao grown on vertiginous granite and schist above the Sil River.

Envínate ferments with native yeasts, uses minimal intervention, and bottles without fining or filtration. The result is a w**e of striking transparency: dark berry, wild herbs, graphite, and a savory mineral depth that speaks directly of the slate beneath the vines. One of the finest expressions of Ribeira Sacra we carry.

Tuesday Tastings — every Tuesday, 5–8 PM, no reservation required.

Four pours for $20. And here’s the part worth knowing: that $20 comes back to you as credit toward the purchase of two bottles of w**e. Which means if you buy, the tasting is essentially free.

No agenda. No dress code. Just show up, taste something interesting, and take home what you love.

La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 890 2011 — $431 | Rioja

The 890 is named for the altitude of La Rioja Alta’s vineyards. It is made only in exceptional vintages — the w**ery has released fewer than 20 vintages since it was first produced in 1904 — and the 2011 spent four years in American oak and another four in bottle before release.

What you get is a w**e of extraordinary age and integrity: dried cherry, to***co, cedar, leather, and a mineral precision that only old Tempranillo from great Rioja soil achieves. The tannins have fully resolved. The finish goes on. This is one of the greatest traditional Riojas produced, and the 2011 is drinking beautifully right now.

Iberian Table: Galicia, The Wild Atlantic. Several expressions of Albariño poured side by side, paired with almejas a la marinera, steamed mussels, and grilled fish. The kind of meal that makes sense when you understand where Galicia sits — on the Atlantic edge of Spain, where the sea shapes everything.

7–9pm, bring a bottle you're excited to share and taste what everyone else brought. We're seeding the night with a 2024 Albariño from Do Ferreiro — picked up in person from the Méndez family in Rías Baixas, who called this vintage nothing short of iconic.
