Come for the tequila. Stay because the bottle is ridiculously cute. 😌

Hussong’s Tequila brings more than 130 years of Mexican tequila history to the shelf, tracing its roots back to 1892 in Ensenada, Mexico, where Juan Hussong served his own handmade tequila in what became one of the city’s most famous cantinas.

And before we even get into the liquid, can we talk about the packaging?

The ceramic-style jug bottle is one of those bottles that practically begs to be displayed. Rustic, distinctive, and immediately recognizable, it has that old-world cantina feel that makes it look just as good on a home bar as it does poured into a glass.

The tequila itself is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, harvested at a minimum of five years old from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco.

Hussong’s Silver

Crystal clear and unaged, the Silver is bright, crisp, and agave-forward.

Expect notes of: 🍋 Lemon and lime
🌿 Fresh-cut grass and spearmint
🍍 Grilled pineapple

September is National Bourbon Heritage Month 🥃

Bourbon is one of America’s most recognizable spirits, but there is a lot more to it than just “whiskey from Kentucky.”

To legally be called bourbon, the whiskey must be made in the United States from a grain mixture that is at least **51% corn**, distilled to no more than 160 proof, entered into **new charred oak barrels** at no more than 125 proof, and bottled at a minimum of 80 proof. It also cannot contain added coloring or flavoring.

That combination of corn and new charred oak is what helps give bourbon many of its signature flavors:

🌽 Corn often brings sweetness and roundness.
🪵 New charred oak can contribute vanilla, caramel, baking spice, toast, and smoke.
🥃 Age can add deeper notes of dried fruit, to***co, leather, and oak.
🔥 Higher proof bottlings often deliver more intensity, richness, and concentrated flavor.

And just like wine, bourbon can taste very different depending on the producer, mash bill, barrel, warehouse location, age, and proof.

A few terms worth knowing:

Straight Bourbon — aged for at least two years and subject to additional labeling rules.

Bottled in Bond — produced under strict federal standards, including being aged at least four years and bottled at 100 proof.

Single Barrel — bottled from one individual barrel rather than a blend of many barrels.

Small Batch — generally refers to a bourbon blended from a smaller selection of barrels, although there is no single legal definition for the term.

Wheated Bourbon — uses wheat as a secondary grain instead of more rye, often giving the whiskey a softer, rounder profile.

September is a great month to explore beyond the bottle you already know. Compare a wheated bourbon with a high-rye bourbon, try a higher-proof expression, or taste the difference between younger and more mature bottlings.

September is California Wine Month 🍷☀️

California is home to one of the most diverse wine landscapes in the world, with everything from cool, foggy coastal vineyards to warm inland valleys producing dramatically different styles of wine.

A few regions worth knowing:

🍇 Napa Valley — famous for Cabernet Sauvignon, with rich fruit, structure, and age-worthy styles.

🌿 Sonoma County — incredibly diverse, with standout Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and more depending on the AVA.

🌊 Central Coast — including areas like Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, and Monterey, where ocean influence helps create everything from elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to bold Rhône-style reds.

☀️ Lodi — known especially for old-vine Zinfandel and generous, fruit-forward reds.

One of the best things about California wine is the range. You can find crisp Sauvignon Blanc, buttery or mineral Chardonnay, delicate Pinot Noir, juicy Zinfandel, structured Cabernet, sparkling wine, Rhône varieties, and plenty in between.

And while California has a reputation for ripe fruit and sunshine, modern producers are making wines in an enormous variety of styles — from lush and full-bodied to restrained, fresh, and terroir-driven.

So this month, consider trying a California wine from a region or grape you do not normally reach for. Compare Napa Cabernet with Paso Robles Cabernet. Taste Sonoma Pinot next to one from Santa Barbara. Or explore a lesser-known California variety entirely.

Black Maple Hill Oregon Straight Bourbon Whiskey is produced in small quantities and aged for an average of eight years, then bottled in small batches for a bourbon that delivers richness, warmth, and surprising balance.

On the palate, expect:

🍬 Butterscotch
🪵 Toasted oak
🔥 A noticeable kick of heat
🥃 A smooth, surprisingly mellow finish

Red wine is not one single style — and that is exactly what makes it so fun to explore.

From light, silky Pinot Noir to bold, structured Cabernet Sauvignon, red wines can vary dramatically in body, tannin, acidity, fruit, spice, and texture. The key is figuring out what kind of red fits your palate — and your plate.

A few easy starting points:

🍒 Pinot Noir — light-bodied, elegant, and silky with red fruit, earth, and spice.

🍅 Chianti / Sangiovese — bright acidity, savory character, and a natural match for tomato-based dishes.

🍇 Merlot — softer tannins, plush fruit, and an easy-drinking style that works with everything from burgers to roast chicken.

Looking for a white that is light, crisp, floral, and just a little different from the usual suspects? Meet Gaia Monograph Moschofilero. 🇬🇷🍷

Moschofilero (mos-ko-FEE-leh-ro) is an aromatic Greek grape grown especially in the Peloponnese, and despite its slightly intimidating name, the wine itself is incredibly easy to love.

Think white flowers, lemon, peach, apple, and delicate spice, with bright acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. It is dry, lively, and aromatic without being heavy — a great bottle for anyone who enjoys wines like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or other fresh, expressive whites but wants to branch out.

One of the things we love about Moschofilero is how food-friendly it is. Try it with:
