This 2022 California Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those.

Sourced primarily from Red Hills Lake County, with support from Monterey and Sonoma, it’s shaped by a growing season that did exactly what you want it to do — warm days, cool evenings, and just enough breeze to bring everything into balance.

The result is a Cabernet that feels ripe, smooth, and dialed in:

✨ Ehmoser 2021 Grossweikersdorf Weissburgunder — a Pinot Blanc that shows just how much depth a white wine can have without losing its freshness.

From the loess-covered limestone hills of the Wagram (Austria), this wine is rooted in a place where the soil does a lot of the talking. Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) thrives here, picking up that signature mineral edge while still delivering ripe, expressive fruit.

On May 24, 1976, a blind tasting in Paris brought together some of the most respected French wines and a relatively unknown group of California producers. The expectation? France would dominate — no question.

But that’s not what happened.

In what became known as the Judgment of Paris, California wines took the top spots in both red and white categories — shocking the wine world and rewriting what people thought they knew about quality, prestige, and where great wine could come from.

Up until that moment, French wine was considered the gold standard. This tasting proved something bigger: great wine isn’t about reputation — it’s about what’s in the glass. It opened the door for New World regions to be taken seriously and changed the way we explore wine today.

This family estate in Kremstal, Austria has been around since 1893, now spanning six generations. And while a lot has changed over time, their approach hasn’t — thoughtful farming, minimal intervention, and wines that reflect exactly where they come from.

The vineyards are farmed under Austria’s KIP (Kontrolled Integrated Production) — a system that’s in some ways even stricter than organic. No herbicides, no insecticides for over 25 years, and a focus on keeping the soil healthy and alive.

And you can taste that intention in the glass.

From the Holzgasse site — a steep, terraced vineyard sitting about 1,000 feet above sea level — this Grüner Veltliner is harvested early to preserve its freshness and energy.
