It’s that time of year again! Join us at our 29th annual Northside Oktoberfest on Saturday September 20th from 11:00am-3:00pm!

Tickets are on sale now! For the month of July tickets are $50 and will increase to $60 in August so get them soon!

Tickets will include a custom 2025 Oktoberfest glass, unlimited samples, and full access to all of the games, contests, and entertainment!

Had a great time this morning talking about the movie with our friend Justin Roberts on the KCRG morning show. We brought one of our prop barrels for the movie. See if you can guess which one is the real one, and which one is foam???

Filming starts in 22 days!

Movie audiences next summer will be able to watch a historic drama of the bloody fight over alcohol sales in Iowa City. They may even watch "Death of a Brewer" over a cold beer at their local brewery.

We are now accepting applications to be extras next month in our full length motion picture filming in Iowa City, Quincy and Galena called "Death of a Brewer".

Are you a "Local"?

Whenever we show this picture of the J.P. Dostal Great Midwestern Brewery, I am always assured that the person who laughs at my phrase "This parade, honoring the Veterans of the Spanish American War, are going down Market Street-and even back then, folks were going down the one way streets the wrong way" IS A LOCAL!

This massive brewery once stood where Bluebird Cafe is, all the way to George's. The main picture is taken from the front door of John's.

Dostal, who was Czech, was one of the three brewers who made up the "Beer Mafia" and will be featured in our movie that starts filming July 28th called "Death of a Brewer".

This man is Conrad Graf. Original Brewmaster for the Hotz and Geiger Union Brewing Company.

After Simeon Hotz’s untimely death, he puts everything on the line, only to have the Son’s of Temperance cheat the vote and BOOM-Prohibition comes to Iowa City!
