It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved brother, Battalion Chief Michael "Mike" Turner. Chief Turner is surrounded by his family and friends during this time. Chief Turner was very passionate about the Decatur Township Fire Department, as well as the training of future firefighters and EMS professionals.
Mike is a 22-year veteran of the DTFD, and was very passionate and supportive of organ donation, supportive of the initiative to fight blindness and building a better environment for anyone who he interacted with.
In lieu of a service, the family welcomes everyone to a Celebration of Life that will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, members may donate to https://www.fightingblindness.org/ which is an initiative that Mike supported.
Please keep BC Turner, Firefighter Michael Turner and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers, as we will continue to support them through this difficult time.
