This is Bartholomew Broadbent, one of the most important figures in today’s world of wine, with our own Simon O’Grady at Storied Company recently.
Bartholomew has been hailed by the wine press as “One of the fifty most-influential people in the wine world” and “One of ten people in the world driving the most revolutionary changes in wine,” among many other accolades.
As well as owning and operating Broadbent Selections, one of the country’s leading wine import companies, he is one of the world’s foremost authorities on Madeira and Port and is credited with the re-introduction of Madeira into the U.S.
Bartholomew’s Masterclass included wines from Gusborne in England, Alheit Vineyards in South Africa, Chateau Musar from Lebanon and a selection of Broadbent Madeira’s from Portugal. While Nick Detrich of Magdalena in Indianapolis provided an exquisite paired tasting plate.
