We lost? Come on, what did we really lose? No bombs fell on the good ol' USA. Well, we lost the lives of our military personnel. (Will we ever know the real #?). We lost billions of dollars, estimated at $1billion per day of munitions, plus the expensive jets and AWACS. We lost the use of 13 military bases. But even more expensive was our loss of the moral high ground, the respect of our allies and enemies, the respect of our own military personnel for our system of playing, fighting by the rules.

Political plurality, diverse representation, multiple ideologies and interest groups are essential for functioning democracy and freedom of expression. No rhyme, this time. Only slime.
There are a few words that I never use. If you use them, they then sit there on your painter's palette of vocabulary, too easily able to slip out unexpectedly. I try to never use profanity, as this just demonstrates a lack of creativity. There is almost always a better, more precise word than the profane one. But sometimes, only the profane word will suffice. If you watched Pam Bondi's performance in front of Congress, then you might excuse me for using, or at least alluding to, this foul term.

There can be an explanation for the unjustified shooting of Renee Nicole Good by Ice Agent Jonathan Ross; ptsd from previous encounter with a fleeing vehicle, confusion or uncertainty (fog of war), not that any explanation is good enough, nor will it bring back this mother to her children, to her community. For them to double down, triple down, on lies; when we can see for ourselves, Ms. Good turning the wheel to avoid contact with the Ice Agent.

There are no greater gifts than life and peace and joy. There has been so much awful news recently. We need to focus on what is important. Not the latest gizmo or gadget that you don't understand how you have previously lived without it, or the latest doll or toy that big business has focused upon your children.

Kirill Dmitriev, the Harvard educated head of Russia's wealth fund with little diplomatic experience, drafted a plan with Steve Witkoff, the property developer serving as Trump’s freelance envoy on Ukraine. The plan would impose draconian terms on Ukraine and hand Moscow sweeping influence over the country’s political and military sovereignty.
Robert Mueller’s report on Russian 2016 US election meddling found that Dmitriev tapped his UAE network, drawn from one of the RDIF’s principal investors, to build a back channel to Trump’s first administration. Dmitriev heads the RDIF, Russia's Foreign Investment Fund that also serves as Putin's personal slush fund.
Dmitriev and his fund were blacklisted by the U.S. government in 2022 following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions effectively bar American citizens and companies from dealing with them. But Trump’s return to power handed him another lifeline. Not sure how ya'll might feel about possibly earnest, but deluded, hard working Americans losing their money in another Trump financial scheme. DJT closed around $10.84–$10.85 per share.That intraday low of $10.47 now marks the new 52‑week bottom, versus a high of $43.46 earlier this year. This price is just barely above the original S**C price. In other words, nearly all of the “meme premium” and post‑merger enthusiasm around Trump’s media play has effectively been erased, as has the enthusiasm for crypto, in which DJT stock has heavily invested.
But how do I feel about all this...I just wish English had as good a word to express my feelings as do the Germans. Schadenfreude!
