Italians making a Bordeaux blend? Yeah. That’s basically how Bolgheri became famous.

This is Bolgheri, the Tuscan coast region behind legends like Sassicaia, Ornellaia, and Masseto.

No Sangiovese. No Nebbiolo. Instead: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.

Bordeaux grapes. Tuscan coastline. Steak-night personality.

The Bolgheri “Bridges” is the boldest red in our spring wine club lineup. Dark fruit, spice, fuller body, and enough structure to handle real food.

Pour it with steak, lamb, grilled meats, or a hearty ragu.

Save this for your next steak night.

Maybe I’ll get married someday…

Anyways, here’s a Beaune Les Mariages.

Les Mariages is a named vineyard site in Beaune, in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The name comes from an old local tradition: after wedding banquets, people in Beaune would stroll through this area at the foot of the hill, where different wedding parties would meet and mingle.

The wine is Pinot Noir: elegant, earthy, silky, red-fruited, and more about finesse than power.

What is Sancerre, and what should you drink it with?

Sancerre is Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France. Crisp, mineral, citrusy, and one of the best white wines on earth with seafood, goat cheese, oysters, sushi, or anything fresh.

This one is from François Reverdy, a small family producer farming in one of the most classic Sauvignon Blanc regions in the world.

If you’ve only had New Zealand or California Sauvignon Blanc, I highly encourage you to give Sancerre a go.

Recently sourced and sold: 1999 Barolo Monfortino Riserva from Giacomo Conterno.

If you know, you know.

Monfortino isn’t made every year. Only in vintages Conterno deems worthy.
Aged for years before release. This wine is made to last decades after.

1999 is a benchmark Piedmont vintage.
Structure, depth, and staying power that few wines can match.

Tar, rose, dried cherry, iron… and a remarkable finish.

100% Nebbiolo. Serralunga d’Alba.

A legendary wine, so meticulously made. It’s the Barolo other producers measure themselves against, if they even dare.

We have a collection of excellent everyday drinkers.
We source benchmarks too.

Recently sold: 1996 Château Lafite Rothschild.

One of the most iconic wines in the world. A First Growth since 1855, collected, traded, and admired for generations.

The 1996 is one of the great modern Bordeaux vintages, prized for structure, longevity, and classic Lafite precision.

Blackcurrant, cassis, cedar, to***co, and profound elegance.

Nearly three decades on, this is why great Bordeaux became legendary.

We source everyday drinkers. We source legends too.

Opened a 2009 Taurasi at dinner the other night. Awesome vintage still going strong.

Taurasi is Aglianico from Campania, deep in southern Italy. They call it the “Barolo of the South” and it earns the name. Big tannins when young, but give it a decade and it turns into this beautifully smooth, earthy red. Black cherry, leather, to***co, licorice, a little volcanic edge from the Irpinia soil.

Aglianico is one of Italy’s most underrated grapes. Ages excellently, very unique. You can also start with a regular Aglianico wine or a Taurasini, before dropping money for the Taurasi’s price tag.

This one was from a wonderful winery named Bellaria.

Sancerre is iconic for a reason. The benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc worldwide, crisp and mineral, pairs with everything. But right across the Loire river, Pouilly-Fumé is making world-class Sauvignon Blanc too, and most people sleep on it.

Same grape (Sauvignon Blanc) and same region (Loire Valley 🇫🇷), just other bank of the river. Pouilly leans a little smokier and flintier. Sancerre a bit brighter and citrusy.

If Sancerre is your go-to, Pouilly-Fumé deserves a spot in your rotation. It’s less famous so you can find serious value.

There’s nothing like popping a bottle of Champagne.

For a thousand years, every king of France was crowned in Reims, in the heart of Champagne country.

A Benedictine monk named Dom Pérignon spent his life trying to perfect it. Legend holds that the first time he tasted the bubbles, he ran to his brothers shouting “I am drinking stars.”

Napoleon had cases shipped to the front on every campaign. Win or lose. His words: “In victory, one deserves it. In defeat, one needs it.”

Then at the 1967 Le Mans, Dan Gurney wins and is handed a bottle of Moët. Off pure instinct, he grabs it and sprays it everywhere. Every podium since has been an echo of that one impulse.

Jordan. Kobe. The World Series. The Stanley Cup. The final whistle blows, the buzzer sounds, and before anyone says a single word, someone already has a bottle.

On NYE, roughly 300million bottles are popped around the world. Countdowns on every rooftop in the world, followed by a kiss and cheers of Champagne. The same wine and ritual across every language and time zone on earth.

My father always said Champagne is the best wine there is. In his youth he had a party trick: pour the whole bottle into a bowl to dissipate the bubbles, then drink it in one go.

More Champagne. More Life

This is Tiare’s Sauvignon Blanc from Collio, Italy. Same crisp, aromatic profile you love in a Sancerre but with an Italian twist: elderflower, pink grapefruit, mango, and a fresh, structured finish.

Oh, and it won Best in the World at Bordeaux. Twice. 🏆

Perfect with oysters, shrimp, crab, or anything from the sea.
