Mariano’s, part of Kroger is by far the worst culprit on price disparity between shelf or advertised and register ring up in my experience. I assume it’s not a bug but by design.

A new report says that grocery giant Kroger often incorrectly prices items in ways that make them more expensive at the register.

We hit 1502 Electric Vehicle registrations in Elmhurst this month. This is about 15% YOY growth, slower than the almost 20% growth of the state of Illinois. I have some theories about why our growth is currently slower than the state’s at this point.

1. Many Elmhurst residents exceed the income level to qualify for the state electric rebate.
2. Elmhurst had a higher initial share of early adopters.
3. Many Elmhurstians have an affinity for Tata Motors.
4. Musk’s behavior has made Tesla’s popularity take a hit among Elmhurst progessives.

Another example of a significant portion of our population in Elmhurst that doesn’t follow the rules because they think they don’t apply to them. I wonder how many got tickets at last night’s game. We could balance the budget if we appropriately enforced the rules in Elmhurst.

At Jewel but I see this behavior elsewhere. Store has two sizes of carts, instead of sorting them appropriately when being returned to the corral people just put them anywhere, so the next person with the different sized cart has to mix them together. Doing this to the person collecting the carts should get you some bad karma at the very least.

Either this month or next Elmhurst will hit 1500 electric vehicle registrations. We would have been further along if not for Trump’s assault on anything green and Musk’s N**i salute. But Moore’s Law still applies and electrification of personal vehicles may have slowed but it won’t be stopped. The DC fast charger that was announced a while ago for the York Plaza parking lot(Brewpoint plaza) is supposed to be done by the Spring.

I believe this is a recent development. The ability to erect an 8 foot fence if there’s a non-residential zoned property adjacent to your property is a nice option. Looking at less parking lots could make your property more enjoyable.

d) In any non-residentially zoned district a fence or wall may be erected, placed, or maintained adjacent to the lot line to a height not to exceed eight feet above the grade level, provided that the maximum height of any fence in a front or corner side yard shall not exceed a height of three feet above the grade level.

For $75,000 a year you too can enjoy the convenience of downtown Elmhurst living. This is the same company that walked away from the Elmhurst Performing Arts Center project reportedly because they couldn’t extract a sweet TIF deal from the city.
