Cachaça (pronounced “ka-SHAH-sa”) is Brazil’s national spirit, a distilled liquor made from fermented sugarcane juice and is the prime ingredient in Brazil’s famous cocktail the Caipirinha. Recipe below.
Ingredients
1 lime, cut into wedges
2 teaspoons sugar
2 ounces cachaça
Garnish: lime wheel
Steps
In a double rocks glass, muddle the lime wedges and sugar.
Fill the glass with ice, add the cachaça, and stir briefly.
